Excited to welcome a new intern to my practice this semester! She’s taking new clients currently! Welcome, Morgan!!

📣 Announcement!! 📢 PEAK is excited to welcome Morgan Howe to the practice! Morgan holds a BS in Psychology from Texas A&M University and is pursuing her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at San Houston State University, followed by licensure as a Professional Counselor and Play Therapist. Also a summer camp director and former D1 Student-Athlete, Morgan has diverse experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Her theoretical orientation primarily aligns with solution-focused therapy combined with other relevant approaches, making her a great fit for the clients at Peak Counseling and SP. she is available to meet with clients virtually and will be supervised by Adrienne Neal, LPC-S.

Proud to announce a new service offered at Peak. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is a long-standing gold standard in trauma therapy utilizing both hemispheres of the brain. In a handful of sessions, some of the most difficult experiences can be lessened in impact. Along with full EMDR, solution-focused EMDR is also available to work through injury trauma and mental blocks. For more, see the link in bio.

I also work outside of the office or online session? Offsite sessions for athletes around the Brazos Valley and Greater Houston are available to work on the finer area of your mental game!

Excited to present to the sports medicine staff today on a topic I personally know well. Not quite ready to say I’m grateful for all the injuries I’ve sustained in my running career, but it is satisfying to be able to help others treat them more effectively!

It’s National Eating Disorder Awareness Week. This year, I thought I’d take a more preventative route and give some examples of what normal versus disordered eating could possibly look like. If you see some of these behaviors in yourself of others, don’t hesitate to reach out for help.

Our joints and muscles have ‘Range of Motion’, our brains have ‘Range of Emotion’. Puns aside, the real superpower in performance is emotional flexibility and our general well-being is building comfort with experience and challenges and learning to adjust thoughts and emotions them accordingly.
