Liver Fact of the Day 🫀➡️🫁➡️🫀
Your liver processes about 1.4 liters of blood every single minute. That means in just an hour, it’s filtered more than 20 bathtubs worth of blood! Your liver is basically your body’s quality control department for everything coming from your digestive system.
Here’s the process in plain terms:
Everything you eat or drink gets digested, and the nutrients (plus any chemicals, alcohol, or toxins) are absorbed into your bloodstream.
The liver removes toxins, metabolizes drugs, breaks down old red blood cells, and processes nutrients so they’re ready for use or storage.
It also screens for pathogens and activates parts of your immune system if needed.
The cleaned, processed blood is then sent back into circulation for the rest of your body to use. Without this filter, your body would be constantly dealing with chemical overload and harmful substances from food, the environment, and even normal metabolism.
Liver Food of the Day:
Beets – Their natural pigments (betalains) help your liver break down toxins and reduce inflammation. Roast them, blend them into a smoothie, or toss them into a salad for a colorful boost.
