Brain injury doesn’t just impact physical function. It can significantly affect cognitive-communication skills. Difficulties with attention, memory, problem solving, organization, and word finding can make everyday tasks and conversations more challenging. These challenges are often invisible but they have a real impact on independence and quality of life. Speech-language pathologists play a critical role in helping individuals rebuild these skills and return to meaningful participation in their daily lives. Awareness is the first step. Access to care is the next.
