SMART Bone Graft

SMART Bone Graft S.M.A.R.T. Patients experience less pain, less swelling and fewer complications! Dr. Ernesto Lee developed the S.M.A.R.T. method. Additionally, S.M.A.R.T.

provides a simplified and efficient alternative to hip grafts, block grafts and traditional GBR procedures, while avoiding soft tissue defects and loss of papillae. minimally invasive bone grafting method to treat complex clinical challenges and high-risk esthetic scenarios. Research has shown that this approach may enable better outcomes, decreased morbidity, and fewer complications. Biomedical is an institution dedicated to research, education, and innovation in the fields of minimally invasive bone grafting surgery, dental implants, and interdisciplinary esthetic therapies. We are a provider of training, certification, surgical instrumentation, and devices used with the S.M.A.R.T. Biomedical delivers innovative solutions and consulting services to the dental implant and oral regeneration industries.

The S.M.A.R.T.® technique was developed to address a common challenge in bone grafting: achieving predictable regeneration while preserving soft tissue integrity. By eliminating flap elevation and working within a stable subperiosteal environment, the technique minimizes surgical trauma and reduces complications often associated with traditional grafting approaches.

For clinicians managing complex or esthetically sensitive cases, this difference in approach can meaningfully impact healing, predictability, and long-term outcomes.

Even the most experienced clinicians know that learning doesn’t stop. Many of the doctors who attend S.M.A.R.T.® training bring years, sometimes decades, of clinical experience.

What resonates most is the opportunity to refine decision-making, explore a different surgical approach, and think more deeply about tissue preservation and predictability in complex cases.

If this resonates, we’d welcome you to join us at one of our S.M.A.R.T.® training sessions this year.

Our next S.M.A.R.T.® training course is in June. Yes, that’s a few months away, but we also know how quickly training calendars fill up. If you’re planning your CE for the year, now’s a great time to add it to the schedule.

The course is designed to be practical and immediately applicable, so clinicians leave with a clear understanding of how the S.M.A.R.T.® technique fits into everyday practice and start using it right away.

As winter storms move through many parts of the country, it serves as a reminder that not all conditions are always ideal.

Neither are many of the clinical cases we encounter.

The S.M.A.R.T.® technique was developed for compromised sites when tissue, anatomy, and margin for error demand a more controlled, minimally invasive approach. It’s about maintaining stability and predictability when conditions aren’t working in your favor.

This course is for clinicians who enjoy digging into real cases and learning techniques that are grounded in biology and clinical experience. The S.M.A.R.T.® training focuses on a minimally invasive approach to bone grafting, with plenty of discussion around decision-making, tissue preservation, and how the technique fits into everyday practice, across specialties.

In compromised sites, the difference is often how much tissue is disrupted to achieve regeneration. Traditional flap-based grafting can further destabilize already limited anatomy.

The S.M.A.R.T.® technique takes a different approach by avoiding flap elevation to preserve tissue and vascular stability, supporting more predictable regeneration with fewer postoperative complications. This distinction is why many clinicians turn to S.M.A.R.T.® for cases where the margin for error is minimal.

We’ve been taking a hard look at how we teach, how we share our techniques, and how clinicians are actually using them in practice. As a result, some meaningful changes are coming to our S.M.A.R.T.® training sessions, and more!

I’m genuinely excited about what’s ahead and look forward to sharing more with you soon.

Reimagining immediate implant therapy with our S.M.A.R.T.® technique.

Flapless and minimally invasive, this approach is designed to support predictable bone regeneration, even in challenging sites like narrow ridges and compromised bone.

This is the kind of feedback we love to hear after one of our S.M.A.R.T.® training courses. Hearing this from a fellow clinician says more than we ever could. Grateful to our participants for trusting us with their time.

New energy.
New skills.
New technique.

In 2026, continuing education should support real clinical growth. S.M.A.R.T.® training courses are built for clinicians looking to strengthen their approach to bone grafting, implant dentistry, and surgical decision-making through hands-on training and case-based discussion. If refining technique, improving predictability, and gaining confidence in grafting outcomes are part of your goals this year, we’d love to learn with you.

2026 workshop dates are now live. Visit our website at smartbonegraft.com.
