How often do you video yourself moving?

Or do you wait until that one time a year when somebody videoed you and then you decide to watch it and then you beat yourself up for looking all week and big and floppy?

Get your phone out prop it up or get a friend and video yourself walking around and ask yourself. Do you move like somebody who’s strong?

I think that I know my body pretty darn well, but I will tell you this… I have caught many things in a video that I did not feel when I was performing.

There will never be a better spotter than yourself working on this.

I try really hard to get my clients to do this. Not gonna lie they fight me and most of the time they don’t do it, but I will continue to push for it because if I die tomorrow, you need to know how to assess your own movement!

In this video, I am assessing my ankle movement, my hip movement, because those joints are the movers?

My knee joints and your knee joints are stabilizers. They are not moving me along.

My ankles and my hips are the joints being moved on purpose for motion.

Bone loss often happens silently.
Women can lose up to 20 percent of their bone density in the first 5–7 years after menopause.

Because bone loss does not cause pain early, many women assume their bones are fine until a fracture or scan reveals otherwise.

Bone responds best to load, impact, and resistance, not just walking or light activity.

Without those signals, bones simply continue to weaken.

Don’t wait until you’ve begun to lose bone or muscle to make change!

After menopause, the body loses ovarian estrogen production.

But mechanical stress from strength training, impact, and muscle contraction can stimulate signaling pathways that support bone, muscle, and metabolic health.

If the body does not receive those signals, it looks for backup strategies.

One of the fastest is storing fat tissue, particularly around the abdomen

because fat cells contain aromatase enzymes that can produce small amounts of estrogen-like hormones.

So when bone and muscle are not challenged,

the body may lean more heavily on belly fat as hormonal support.

…we all know we don’t want that!

We rarely think of the facial muscles

I’m not a face yoga instructor but I know enough to teach my clients about the muscles we rarely ever think of!

It’s time to use those facial muscles or they will sag and weaken!
