How often do you video yourself moving?
Or do you wait until that one time a year when somebody videoed you and then you decide to watch it and then you beat yourself up for looking all week and big and floppy?
Get your phone out prop it up or get a friend and video yourself walking around and ask yourself. Do you move like somebody who’s strong?
I think that I know my body pretty darn well, but I will tell you this… I have caught many things in a video that I did not feel when I was performing.
There will never be a better spotter than yourself working on this.
I try really hard to get my clients to do this. Not gonna lie they fight me and most of the time they don’t do it, but I will continue to push for it because if I die tomorrow, you need to know how to assess your own movement!
In this video, I am assessing my ankle movement, my hip movement, because those joints are the movers?
My knee joints and your knee joints are stabilizers. They are not moving me along.
My ankles and my hips are the joints being moved on purpose for motion.
