As I’ve been reflecting on the past year — and honestly, the past couple — I’ve noticed how big of a role food plays in my life. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s simply awareness.
Food fuels us, nourishes us, and can even support healing in the body. In many ways, it truly is medicine. At the same time, food can take up too much space in our thoughts, become an obsession, or quietly harm us — emotionally and physically — when our relationship with it isn’t healthy. Add in highly processed foods and pesticides, and the relationship becomes even more complicated.
Food also carries so much memory for me. Many of those memories are beautiful, especially those connected to my mom. Some are painful. Both have shaped how I relate to food, my body, and myself.
What I’m realizing is this: food was always intended to be good. It becomes harmful when our beliefs, thoughts, or understanding of ourselves and our needs fall out of alignment.
At the heart of it all, our relationship with food often reflects our relationship with ourselves… and with God. And that’s where true healing begins.
✨ If this resonates with you and you’re longing for a gentler, faith-centered approach to food and health this year, I’d love to walk alongside you through 1:1 coaching. This work is about more than food — it’s about healing the whole person: body, soul, and spirit.
As we step into this new year, my prayer is for greater awareness, grace, and freedom — not just around food, but in how we care for the whole of who we are.
