The major difference between Eastern and Western medicine is that in Eastern medicine the focus is on balance. The body and mind should be in balance with the environment surrounding it. Eastern physicians strive to cultivate this balance, thereby alleviating/eliminating illness and disease. In Western medicine, the balance of body and mind is not often considered, so illness and disease are approached as needing to be "fixed" when broken. Disease and illness often take over our physical body when something is out of balance. The center offers a wide variety of Eastern medicine modalities such as Ayurveda, massage, Reiki, holistic nutrition and Tai Chi. The center also offers motivational speakers, classes and workshops that teach the ancient art of Eastern Medicine.
