** Edited to add on 6/15/2024**: Hi all! Thank you for your interest in our Kids Market @ the Store program. Unfortunately, we have hit capacity due to high demand and had to close the sign up survey. We are only able to offer the program to a certain number of people each year due to funding. Stay tuned and make sure you’re following our page, we’d love to have you join us next year!
We are blown away by the interest in our Kids Market @ the Store Program this year! So far, over 3,000 families have signed up to participate! 😁 Kids Market @ The Store allows kids to “shop” for free fruits and vegetables at participating retail locations. Each child will receive 20 tokens (maximum of 60 tokens per family) which can be spent at their local store’s Kids Market @ the Store display.
As we continue to enroll families in our Kids Market @ the Store Program, we wanted to address a couple of questions that many of you have had.
💚 Why is Kids Market @ the Store not offered in my county?
Kids Market @ The Store is funded in part by the SNAP-Ed program from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. But that only covers the administrative side of the program. Additional dollars from foundations and other donors are needed to pay for the cost of fruits and vegetables you see on the carts. The amount of funding and type of funding we receive dictates where the program occurs and how many families can participate. Some of our grants, for instance, require us to serve certain communities and can’t be used outside that area.
We would love to see the program in every county. If you are interested in donating or want to partner on bringing the program to your community, please send us a message!
💚 When will I hear back about my enrollment?
We are still enrolling families in several counties, and do not reach out to families with the next steps until their county enrollment hits capacity. Be sure to follow this page, as we will be sharing updates regarding the program here as well. If you sign up to participate after your county’s registration is full, we will still contact you to let you know that you are on a waitlist.
