🌸⚾ Spring Sports Season is Here! 🥎🌼
We love seeing our patients out on the field, court, and track this time of year! Fun fact, Dr. Jess always tries to make it to a few sporting events around the community to watch patients play! Pictured below is Dr. Jess' oldest nephew aiming for the fences (playing in dirt) at his t-ball game last night!
Feel free to drop some photos of your kiddos in their sport in the comments!
We love to see our patients building confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits that last a lifetime! As the season kicks off, Goldilocks Pediatrics wants to share a few important tips to keep your young athletes safe and thriving:
🏃♂️ Start Slow & Build Up
Avoid jumping in too quickly. Gradually increase activity to prevent overuse injuries.
💧 Hydration is Key
Encourage plenty of water before, during, and after practices and games, even on cooler days.
🛡️ Use Proper Gear
Make sure equipment fits well and is sport-appropriate (helmets, pads, mouthguards, cleats, etc.).
🧘♀️ Warm Up & Cool Down
Stretching and light activity before and after play can help prevent strains and soreness.
😴 Rest Matters
Rest days are just as important as practice days. Growing bodies need time to recover!
🚨 Listen to the Body
Pain is not something to “push through.” If your child is hurting, it’s time to rest and be evaluated.
🩺 Stay Up to Date on Physicals
Sports physicals help ensure your child is ready to safely participate.
Let’s make this a fun, active, and safe season for all our athletes! If you have any concerns or need a sports physical, we’re here to help. 💛
