With dangerously cold temperatures expected, we want to remind everyone to take extra steps to stay safe and warm.
π§₯ Protect yourself from the cold
Dress in layers and cover exposed skin (hat, gloves, scarf).
Limit time outdoors when possible.
Keep your home heated and block drafts.
Eat regular meals and drink warm fluids.
β οΈ Know the warning signs of cold-related illness
Uncontrollable shivering
Confusion or slurred speech
Extreme fatigue
Numbness or pale/blue skin
If you or someone you know shows these symptoms, seek medical care immediately.
π Need help finding shelter?
If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness, living in a trailer without adequate heat, or does not have a safe place to stay during extreme cold:

They can help connect individuals to emergency shelter, warming centers, and other local resources.

Please check on neighbors, older adults, and anyone who may be at higher risk during this cold weather. A quick call or check-in can make a big difference.
