Holiday stress + digestion are more connected than most people realize. 🎄

When we’re stressed, our body shifts into fight-or-flight mode — and digestion takes a back seat.

That can mean more bloating, reflux, constipation, or feeling “off” after meals this time of year.

The good news?

You don’t need perfection — just a few small, supportive habits can go a long way. ✨

Try:
• Pausing for a few deep breaths before meals
• Slowing down and chewing a little more
• Eating regularly (even when schedules are wild)

Winter colds don’t stand a chance when your kitchen is stocked with the right foods ❄️💪

Here are 5 winter staples that naturally support your immune system (and taste amazing this time of year):

🍊 Citrus fruits
Loaded with vitamin C to help your immune cells do their job. Oranges, grapefruits, clementines — winter is their season, so enjoy the freshness!

🥔 Sweet potatoes
Their beta-carotene converts to vitamin A, which keeps your skin + mucous membranes strong (aka your body’s first line of defense).

🧄 Garlic
Rich in allicin — a compound shown to support antimicrobial activity. Basically, garlic is nature’s tiny but mighty bodyguard.

Ginger
Anti-inflammatory, soothing, warming… all the things we want when everyone around us is sniffling. Great in teas, soups, or stir-fries.

🥣 Yogurt
Probiotics = gut support. And since ~70% of the immune system lives in the gut, this one matters. *Bonus: it’s an easy protein source!

Staying healthy during the holidays = the ultimate act of self-care (and sanity 😅).

Between kids’ events, patients/work, travel, and ALL the festivities… our immune system deserves a little extra love ✨

These 6 nutrients are my go-to immune “dream team”: Vitamins A, C, D, E, Zinc, and Iron.

Think of them as the behind-the-scenes crew keeping you energized, resilient, and able to actually enjoy the season.

Some of my favorite easy adds:
🍊 A handful of berries in the morning
🥕 Extra roasted veggies with dinner
🥜 Nuts + seeds in my bag at all times (mom life)
🐟 Salmon once or twice a week
🥩 A cozy chili or stew for an iron boost

Holiday chaos happens… but feeling run-down doesn’t have to.

🎉 Mindfull Nutrition Turns 5! 🎉

Five years ago, Mindfull Nutrition was just a dream - an idea born out of a deep desire to help people heal, feel better, and truly understand their bodies! What started as a one-woman practice has grown into something so much more - a thriving community grounded in functional nutrition, mindfulness, and real connection.

This past year has been especially meaningful - we’ve expanded our services, welcomed a new RD to the team, introduced advanced lab testing, and have exciting new programs in the works (stay tuned 👀).

It hasn’t always been easy - balancing parenthood with three kids, functional medicine training, long nights studying, and the constant evolution of running a business - but it’s been so worth it!

I’m endlessly grateful for the incredible staff, patients, and community who make this all possible. You’ve trusted us with your health, your stories, and your goals - and that means everything!
