We talked about how sleep impacts digestion…
But here’s the other side of it 👇

HOW you eat impacts both your digestion AND your sleep.

If you’re eating:
📱 in front of a screen
🚗 in the car
💻 while answering emails
😩 or in a stressed, rushed state

Your body stays in “go mode” (fight or flight)… and digestion + deep sleep require the opposite — rest and repair.

Mindful eating isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about shifting your nervous system.

Try this tonight:
• Turn off the TV.
• Chew slower than feels natural.
• Pause halfway through your meal and check in — “Am I still hungry?”

When we slow down, we digest better.
When we digest better, we sleep better.
And when we sleep better… everything works better.

Small shifts. Big ripple effect. 🤍

If your digestion feels “off”…
It might not just be what you’re eating. It could be how you’re sleeping.

Ever notice that after a few late nights you’re:
• more bloated
• craving sugar + carbs
• constipated (or the opposite 🙃)
• dealing with reflux or stomach discomfort

That’s not random.

Poor sleep raises cortisol, slows gut motility, disrupts your microbiome, and limits your gut’s ability to repair overnight. Your digestive system needs sleep just as much as your brain does.

Before you cut more foods or buy another supplement, ask yourself:
👉 Am I consistently getting 7–9 hours?
👉 Am I eating heavy meals right before bed?
👉 Am I running on caffeine to get through the day?

Sometimes better digestion starts with an earlier bedtime — not a stricter diet.

Holiday stress + digestion are more connected than most people realize. 🎄

When we’re stressed, our body shifts into fight-or-flight mode — and digestion takes a back seat.

That can mean more bloating, reflux, constipation, or feeling “off” after meals this time of year.

The good news?
 You don’t need perfection — just a few small, supportive habits can go a long way. ✨

Try: • Pausing for a few deep breaths before meals • Slowing down and chewing a little more • Eating regularly (even when schedules are wild) • Staying hydrated • Taking a short walk after bigger meals • Letting yourself enjoy holiday foods without guilt

Winter colds don’t stand a chance when your kitchen is stocked with the right foods ❄️💪
 Here are 5 winter staples that naturally support your immune system (and taste amazing this time of year):

🍊 Citrus fruits Loaded with vitamin C to help your immune cells do their job. Oranges, grapefruits, clementines — winter is their season, so enjoy the freshness!

🥔 Sweet potatoes Their beta-carotene converts to vitamin A, which keeps your skin + mucous membranes strong (aka your body’s first line of defense).

🧄 Garlic Rich in allicin — a compound shown to support antimicrobial activity. Basically, garlic is nature’s tiny but mighty bodyguard.

Ginger Anti-inflammatory, soothing, warming… all the things we want when everyone around us is sniffling. Great in teas, soups, or stir-fries.

Staying healthy during the holidays = the ultimate act of self-care (and sanity 😅).
 Between kids’ events, patients/work, travel, and ALL the festivities… our immune system deserves a little extra love ✨

These 6 nutrients are my go-to immune “dream team”: Vitamins A, C, D, E, Zinc, and Iron.
 Think of them as the behind-the-scenes crew keeping you energized, resilient, and able to actually enjoy the season.

Some of my favorite easy adds: 🍊 A handful of berries in the morning 🥕 Extra roasted veggies with dinner 🥜 Nuts + seeds in my bag at all times (mom life) 🐟 Salmon once or twice a week 🥩 A cozy chili or stew for an iron boost
