Today was an incredible day for Child Nutrition at Career Day! 🍎🥗 It was truly inspiring to see so many young minds eager to learn about healthy eating, food careers & how they can choose to feed their bodies the nutrients it needs with fruits & vegetables. Thank you to Blanco Vista Elementary School for hosting us, this event was so special.

Today, our little Hornets from Tom Green Elementary School had an exciting time learning about salads and harvesting fresh crops from our Hydroponic Green Towers! 🌽🌿 They got a hands-on experience tasting the delicious fruits of their labor. 🍓🥒

🍔 It's BURGER TIME! We brought the HEAT to Lehman High School, with the help of the LHS Culinary Arts team, we served up some good food and great memories!! From juicy cheeseburgers to crispy tater tots, we had something for everyone.

🎉 Tajin & Fruit Fiesta! 🎉

We had a fun tasting for the kiddos, at Simon Middle School and Dahlstrom Middle School, last week! This Tajin-spiced fruit cup was a winner! The Combination of fresh fruits (mango, watermelon, cucumbers, etc.) with a sprinkle of Tajin seasoning was a tasty kick 🌶 It's a great source of vitamins and antioxidants, and the kids loved the unique flavor😁
🌟🎉Shout out to our Texas State dietetic intern Ashley Rodriguez. She stepped in to create this delicious and flavorful Pop Up Tasting! She is currently completing her food service rotation and on her way to becoming a Registered Dietitian, good luck Ashley on your journey to greatness!

🌟 Cooking with Girl Scouts! 🌟

Last Friday, we had an amazing time teaching the Girl Scouts, from Buda Elementary, the art of sautéing fish! 🐟💕 From selecting the freshest ingredients to mastering the perfect sear, these girls truly shined in the kitchen!

We started with the basics: learning about different types of fish, how to season properly, and the importance of using the right heat. Everyone got hands-on experience with sautéing and earned that badge! 🌿

It was wonderful to see teamwork in action, with each girl encouraging one another and sharing their own creative ideas. The best part? Enjoying the delicious results of our hard work together! 🎉✨

Cooking isn't just a skill—it's a way to bond, create memories, and empower each other. Can't wait for our next culinary adventure! 🍽️💚

🌶️🔥Kitchen Takeover Time! 🔥🌶️

🔥 We're thrilled to announce the absolute success of our Frying Dragon Kitchen Takeover at Lehman High School! The heat was on, and the flavors were off the charts! The LHS Culinary students joined us, during lunch, in cooking a bold new dish for their peers.

✨ Special Menu Item: TOFU STIR-FRY! LHS students dined in and took surveys on a limited-time menu item during lunch.

🎉 Interactive Demos: The students got to watch the LHS culinary team go hard in a live action cooking demo! The culinary team cooked and served in the cafeteria; the line was out the door! Earning them their culinary credits and some cool points with their peers👩‍🍳

These students are truly an inspiration!

We had an absolute blast at Hemphill Elementary School Kyle, TX Specials Spectacular! 🚴‍♂️🍓 We're always so excited to see students and their families try the smoothie bikes — They’re a fun and healthy way to get excited about nutrition. It was a great chance to highlight some of the fun and nutritious menu items we serve (like smoothies for breakfast😁).

Just a friendly reminder: breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day — and we’re here to help our students start their day off strong!

Our little chefs-in-training had a blast making apple sandwiches — a tasty, snack packed with fruit, protein from sunbutter, and a crunchy granola twist for grains and fiber.

It was all smiles, sticky fingers, and full bellies. 😄 We’re so proud of our budding foodies and can’t wait for more Roving Chef adventures to come!

🌟🍓 Smoothie Time! 🍌🥤Yesterday, at Cullen Elementary School, we busted out the bikes and had a blast teaching your little chefs how to make their very own delicious and healthy smoothies! 🥬✨ They took a tour of the kitchen, learned about different fruits, veggies, and the magic of blending. Watching them mix and match ingredients was a joy! Plus, they loved tasting their creations. 💚
