Story from American Optometric Association: Surprising things an optometrist sees during an eye exam

More than 270 serious health conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, autoimmune diseases and cancers can be detected by doctors of optometry through a comprehensive eye exam. That's why AOA is committed to educating the public about the critical role regular, in-person exams play in preventive health care.
“The eyes are not only our way of seeing the world — they also give doctors of optometry a clear view of patients’ overall health,” says AOA’s President William T. Reynolds, O.D., in USA TODAY.

Dr. Scott had the opportunity to help with a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Buena Vista Drug this past weekend. We are thankful to live in community with access to the vaccine, and we are looking forward to brighter days ahead! Colorado Optometric Association

Tomorrow (2/26) during regular business hours, our phones may be disrupted as we update our system. Please feel free to leave us a message as we will still have access to voicemail and will call you back throughout the day. If you need to *urgently* reach us and are having difficulty, please email us at [email protected] or stop by our office and we will greet you at the door. Thanks!

It has undoubtedly been one of the weirdest years on record in many ways. The BV Schools and school activities are no exception. We would like to invite the community and other businesses to join us in showing our support for the athletes and all BV students by wearing BV gear on Fridays. The high school boys’ basketball team has put together a team store for BV basketball gear. This isn’t a fundraiser, it is just an opportunity for the BV community to get some Demons apparel. Please join us in showing your spirt and support on Fridays in the new year! Order deadline is January 3.

Check out these primitive sunglasses. Aren't you glad sunglasses look a little more fun these days?

Exciting news! We now have our own frame line at Collegiate Peaks Eyecare. And, each frame has an etching of Mt. Princeton.

"At Collegiate Peaks Eyecare, we are committed to preserving these views for a lifetime, and where better to begin than with our own private frame line, Ascent. Inspired by our own mountain vistas, Ascent was born from a desire to merge our passion for exceptional eyewear and the majesty of the Collegiate Peaks. Made from superior acetate and titanium materials, our designs are etched with the silhouette of Mt. Princeton on the inside of every frame."

It is always a good idea to have a backup pair of glasses. 😀
