24 years ago today—October 23rd, 1998 my colleague, Dr. Barnett Slepian was murdered by an anti-choice terrorist. Bart was a wonderful person—an esteemed Ob/Gyn with a large practice, a devoted father and husband and a self-described workaholic. He was courage personified—for years anti-abortion activists threatened and vilified him. They were not content with opposing his determination to help women but attacked his character and painted him as a monster until someone killed him. We miss Bart! We’ll never forget him! May his memory be for a blessing
