🍎 Community Grocery Box Drive – Supporting Families Affected by SNAP Reductions 🍞

Anchor Recovery is organizing grocery boxes to help local families impacted by the loss of SNAP benefits.

If you’d like to contribute, please consider donating boxed or shelf-stable items, such as:

Worrying can significantly affect your day in several ways ;mentally, physically, and emotionally. Here’s how:

🧠 Mental Impact

Worrying consumes mental energy. When your mind is constantly looping through “what if” scenarios, it becomes harder to focus on tasks or make clear decisions. This can lead to:
• Reduced concentration — you might find it difficult to stay present or remember details.
• Overthinking — your brain feels cluttered and unable to prioritize what’s truly important.
• Decision fatigue — even small choices (like what to eat or wear) can feel overwhelming.

💪 Physical Impact

Chronic worry triggers your body’s stress response, releasing hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. Over time, this can cause:
• Fatigue;your body stays tense, draining your energy.
• Muscle tension and headaches :especially in the shoulders, neck, or jaw.
• Digestive issues :your body diverts energy away from digestion during stress.
• Sleep disruption : worrying often makes it hard to fall or stay asleep.

❤️ Emotional Impact

Worrying can color your entire mood for the day:
• Irritability or impatience :small frustrations feel bigger.
• Restlessness :a constant sense that something’s wrong or unfinished.
• Hopelessness ;long-term worry can lead to anxiety or even depressive feelings.

🌤️ How to Manage It
• Grounding techniques like deep breathing, mindfulness, or journaling can help you return to the present.
• Set “worry time” give yourself 10–15 minutes to address worries, then redirect focus.
• Movement :exercise helps release stress hormones and boosts mood-regulating chemicals.
• Perspective check :ask: “Is this within my control?” If not, practice letting go.
