How to support someone who is grieving: a series.

It’s hard to know what to say to someone who is going through the worst pain of their lives. So, often times, we say nothing.

It’s ok to say “I don’t know what to say but I’m here for you” or “I don’t know what to say but I can listen” or “I don’t know what to say but I’d love to share stories about your person.”

Grief never ends. Ever.

It changes shape and intensity. We learn to live with it. But we don’t “get over it”. It cannot be “fixed”. It never goes away.

And that’s ok.

Grief is an expression of love. We will never stop loving them, therefore, we never stop grieving them.
