Support the 6-month Maha Sri Yaga practice for collective healing being held at the Institute’s campus in Khajuraho, India.

Gather at HIB (or on ZOOM) to recite 20 repetitions of the Sri Sukta, followed by silent meditation. Whether you are familiar with some, all, or none of these healing mantras (you are welcome to sit and listen), your presence in this Support Circle is beneficial on both a personal and collective level.

Study the Yoga Sutras - Begins Thursday, February 26th

Join us for an exploration of Nicolai Bachman's newest publication – “The Yoga Sutras Desk Reference: A Comprehensive Guide to the Core Concepts of Yoga”.

Rather than moving linearly through sections of the text, Nicolai identifies nine key principles that are essential in understanding the scripture as a whole.

We will learn the Sanskrit word for each principle and how one might define and understand it through discussion, reflection, and practice.

It is helpful but not necessary to have taken Part 1 of this course.

Meditation Satsang (Second Fridays)!

Satsang is a Sanskrit term that means truth (sat) community (sangha), recognizing the importance of coming together with other like-minded seekers for support.

This Friday, we will read and discuss Chapter 1 of Deborah Adele’s book, "Yamas and Niyamas". There will be time to contemplate, converse, and sit quietly in meditative awareness.

It is with a deep sense of sadness that we share the news of Rolf Sovik’s passing. A source of great wisdom and infinite compassion, Rolf was a blessing to us all - always meeting each person he encountered with sincerity, respect, and kindness.

For over two decades, Rolf and Mary Gail served as the co-directors of the Buffalo center. Their dedication to selfless service and to the Tradition is what motivates us to this day - shaping our home on Delaware Avenue into the living shrine that so many have come to love and call their spiritual home.

A celebration of Rolf’s life and legacy will be held at HIB in late spring when Mary Gail can be here with us. We will announce the date when it has been set. We look forward to being with you and to sharing stories of love and gratitude for our teacher and dear friend.

Thank you, Rolf. And thank you, MG. Your light, your wisdom, and your continued presence have helped so many. We are forever grateful.
