We have been hearing our Medicare Advantage patients saying "My insurance says I only get 6 visits (or 12 visits) a year"....

We would like to clear up the confusion.

What your representative or brochure is saying is that they will cover 6 or 12 "maintenance" or "routine" chiropractic visits a year. This means that you come to get adjusted and have no complaints that come from your spine being out of alignment.

This is very different than the type of care nearly every patient in our practice comes in for - which is neck or back symptoms like pain or stiffness that have a physical cause in your spine. This is called subluxation.

A visit with Dr. Luke or Dr. Karl that addresses specific symptoms that have a spinal alignment issue does not fall under the category of "routine". These types of visits are almost always unlimited by Medicare Advantage plans.

If you have any questions, please give us a call and we will look up your specific insurance rules and let you know. Please don't limit care for pain and injury because you think you have to ration your appointments!

Highmark is a national organization and has made many changes to policies and benefits taking over the local BCBS of WNY. We support BMG, who has the numbers to go head to head in negotiations with Highmark and still couldn't negotiate successfully.

Smaller providers do not have the flexibility that BMG has, and we hope our patients that have Highmark understand that insurances often reduce the payments to providers in order to close their own budget gaps. Providers have the same expenses that everyone else does, so this makes it difficult to keep staffing and hours that make your experience a good one

Take a look at your insurance options and make sure that all of your benefits will be covered. If you have the choice, see what local insurance product you can choose.

Dr. Karl has been working for over a year towards health and fitness through weight lifting and healthy eating. Tomorrow, he is putting it ALL OUT THERE and competing in his first weightlifting contest!

Chiropractic is covered under many health insurances. Here is a list of the ones our doctors accept. If you don't see your insurance listed, you are welcome as a private pay patient. We make every effort to keep our rates affordable. Call us at 826-1661 and we can tell you what your plan covers and what your copays or coinsurance will be.

Seniors - Check you policy documents! Our office will not be changing our insurance affiliations for 2025, but please read your "Policy Change" documents to make sure you'll still have all the benefits you are used to. Take the time to shop around, not every policy is the same. If you have a senior in your life that might need some assistance, go through the paperwork with them!

Attention, Medicare Advantage enrollees: It’s a good idea to review your plans during open enrollment, which begins Tuesday, so you don’t get caught by surprise next year.

It's almost time for most of our patients to enroll in their insurance plan for next year. Our doctors also treat Workers' Compensation (not Federal) and No Fault (auto) patients. Reminder that chiropractic is not a covered benefit under NYS Medicaid. All patients with other insurances are welcome as private pay, and our fees are often what a specialist copay would be under these plans.
