Want to feel more confident about your medications and know how to advocate for your health with your provider? You may be eligible to participate in our Medication Safety and Patient Empowerment presentations.
We have an upcoming session at the Kenan Center!
Session 1: Wednesday, April 29, 2026, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Session 2: Wednesday, May 6, 2026, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
*Participants must be able to attend both sessions*
You may qualify if you are:
• Aged 55+
• Take prescription medications
You may qualify if you are a caregiver of an eligible participant:
• Aged 18+
• Informal or formal caregivers are welcome - you do not need to reside together
This program’s goal is to empower older adults and their caregivers with information to prevent & detect medication harm and give them the knowledge, skills, & tools to advocate for themselves. The presentations cover the potential and prevalence of medication harm in older adults as told by The Alice Story, a real case derived from the horrific death of Alice Brennan, triggered by preventable medication errors & system failures.
Participation Involves:
· Participate in two (2) educational sessions and one (1) brief 6-month follow-up session
· Completing questionnaires at each session
· For non-caregiver participants only: Provide a medication list at two (2) timepoints
