Meet Rip
Rip’s trainer wanted to use him for ranch work. While he was used to the real world conditions of ranch work, his feet were in poor condition. Corrective shoes were tried, but unsuccessful due to the cracks in his hooves (due to poor nutrition). He would trip a lot and stumble on uneven surfaces. He would drag his feet and trip.
I use techniques with Rip that help balance and strengthen his body, supporting the physical structure of the body and helping to sustain muscular and skeletal strengthening. The techniques help stabilize physical stamina. This work also helps strengthen the animal/human bond. Rip really likes the work. He shows good relaxation responses.
The trainer had a good farrier work with Rip. She built trust and a strong bond with him. He trusts her to work under his front legs. She mentioned she was putting cream on his cuts and he touched her head with his chin…trusting relationship/bond.
The trainer commented, Rip has improved a lot. He is sound and balanced and happy to work. When he came he was nervous, tripping and wouldn’t take right lead. Night and day difference with him. Rip has turned into such a great horse, so kind and willing. He keeps me safe.
He now rides collected, balanced and engages his hind end, lifting his back. He is a very willing, relaxed, responsive horse who rarely trips. He enjoy his work. He opens his mouth to take the bit, now… where before he held it shut and raised his head.

Ice Man’s Story Part 2
The owner continued working with Ice Man, building trust and creating a strong bond. He is an amazing ranch horse and loves to work cattle. She started using Ice in competition/barrels.
He developed the habit of blowing up (bucking) while running the pattern. He would do well until the 3rd barrel. He wouldn’t do it in practice, only competition. After brainstorming with the owner, we wondered if one issue could be a sudden view of the crowd in the bleachers on that turn. Like stage fright or loss of focus/distracted by crowd? (An example for us to relate to… Do you remember your first performance? Maybe it was a memorized piece at the Christmas service. You knew it cold! You could say it over and over at home, in the car, in the store… But, when you stood in front of the crowd, looked up and saw all of those people, your mind may have gone blank). We also discovered pain was likely an issue. And he had diagnosed ulcers.
In a cooperative approach with the owner, I used ongoing relaxation techniques for balancing, behavior modification, increasing the animal/human bond, and pain management. The owner worked with him, building trust, adjusting the pattern, listening to each other, providing ongoing veterinary care, etc.
Comments received from the owner after our sessions included that he seemed more willing to listen to cues and ran the pattern better; he handled competition well, he didn’t mess with her in any way, he was a good boy; he is training better and handling competition better;
Ice Man’s behavior issues improved/resolved. They are both enjoying competition now. They are in the money!
Ice is a regular client and truly enjoys this work! Ice especially benefits from a specific technique that releases congestion in his vertebrae/helps with pain. He settles into the relaxation response and absorbs the healing work so well.
Owner Testimonial
Ice Man was purchased with back issues and with that came bucking issues. He spooked at everything then would try and dumped me. Over a year of slow riding and trust building and Kris working with him, he is a different horse. He rides out unafraid and this winter I was even able to have him pull kids in a sled. His turn-around has been amazing!

Brandi’s story
Pregnant mare presenting with severe breathing distress.
Veterinary Diagnosis of COPD and allergies
The owner is working with the Vet and has Brandi on meds.
Approximately 9 months pregnant-due in June.
Breathing distress
The first video is hard for me to watch. Every breath was distressed.
First visit-The goal of the first visit was (to initiate the relaxation response) to help ease the breathing symptoms to assist in maintaining health and well-being of mare and foal.
Clearing and balancing techniques were completed. Essential oils were used to assist.
The second visit- I assessed the vertebrae. There was a blockage found from approximately the withers up. Vertebral Release was completed. In addition, more clearing and balancing techniques were completed. High frequency essential oils were again used.
The owner reported improvement. Breathing was improved. Brandi was nickering and wanted attention. A Big improvement!
Check-in balancing was done during the remainder of pregnancy.
5/4/2020-The owner updated me. Brandi is doing really well. Due in June. Breathing has been improved/the condition has been controlled.
We did one more stabilization session before delivery. Brandi and foal are doing well.
We have a filly!
The second video shows Brandi and Baby Boots are doing well!
Cooperative healthcare---
This work helps with what the Veterinarian (and other healthcare professional) does.
Traditional treatment works better due to the physiology of the relaxation response.
NOTE---This is a photo. The videos can be found in the 6/13/2020 post on my page. The second video shows the new baby!
(I learned Facebook won't let me do an ad with videos...sorry for any inconvenience).

Meet Scoot-A Ranch and Competition horse loving life!
Progress Accelerated
Scoot had a rough start. He had a previous owner/home where there was mistreatment.
The current owner wanted to use Scoot for pleasure riding, competition and working cattle. The new owner worked with training Scoot and made good progress in building trust. Ongoing training was done by the owner.
First Visit
At first, Scoot was shy, apprehensive, and very cautious…. He was a one-person horse at the beginning of the visit.
I assessed Scoot and determined he would benefit from Trauma Release.
As I applied the relaxation techniques, Scoot became very receptive to the work. He became more trusting and settled into the work well. He released his trauma with a little resistance. But, after he released it, he displayed more ‘happy horse’ behaviors. In addition, he was very affectionate after the treatment. He came a long way in a short period of time!
The owner reported better times in competition in a follow-up conversation.
Scoot- 2nd Visit
Scoot had issues with his feet/legs being sore. He had a cut on his right foot.
Relaxation techniques were applied to the areas with improvement noted.
Scoot-3rd Visit
Scoot was in competition. However, he became stressed over the trip in the trailer/travel.
We did a behavior modification technique to refocus his energy on more productive efforts.
Don’t waste your energy on nonsense…use your energy for fun!
The owner reported that he handled travel better.
*In addition, his times improved…barrels went from 19.5 to 17.5 initially.
They ended that barrel season with time of 16.85, winning checks and a buckle!

Update---Scoot and his owner are routinely in the money, working as a high functioning team and the enjoying the competition!

Meet Ice Man Part 1
History-Ice Man's owner wanted to use him for pleasure riding, competition and working cattle.
He had behavior issues- spooking, bucking, blowing up, saddling issues, etc.
We worked with the relaxation techniques. Iceman settled right into the work.
Trauma release was done. Pain was likely a contributing factor in some of the behavior issues. With the relaxation work and ongoing training, progress was made.
The owner worked with ongoing training and reported good results. Ice Man is in training for working cattle, barrels and skijoring.
The owner commented that, ‘He has come so far…from spooky and bucking to pulling kids in sleds

Cricket's Story

Cricket is a gorgeous mare!
She lost her foal this year...sad story.
Her assessment indicated she had trauma to release.
We worked with her and a technique to release the trauma.
She responded well with a huge release.
Reports are that she has been calmer and fitting in with the herd better since her trauma release.
