CAN YOU EVEN?!
Today marks 1 year since I opened Nookspace. 👯♀️😘💕🖤
Here’s exactly how it went down…
1. I had an idea that never left my brain for a solid year. One of those ideas that you keep thinking about and that continues to show up in your life
2. I saved to spend. I picked an amount I would be comfortable losing to give myself the confidence to go for it.
3. I jumped… cannonball style and hoped for the damn best.
4. After jumping, other women entrepreneurs tossed life raft after life raft helping me stay afloat and are still my life savers to this day. To name a few,
5. I’ve learned to swim… kinda. I really don’t ever know what’s best but I continue to follow my gut, stick to my mission and work on what I can to make this business representative of my idea.
6. I look to the future and feel hopeful that all the lessons I have learned and will learn will only make me better and Nookspace better.
So far, year 1 has been nothing like what I wrote down as a business plan 😂 but that’s ok. I’ve never been so personally and professionally challenged in my life and can’t wait to confront everything that may come in year ✌️ because…
That initial idea that never left me is still here. I still believe in the power of women and the power of rest.
While it’s a real challenge to get women to take breaks, (myself included)…seeing those who do decide to pause and rest, thrills me. I love seeing women push themselves through the limits we set on what a good mom is, or what self care should be or what being an entrepreneur is and everything else in between.
I thank each of you from the deepest parts of my soul for giving me a follow, booking a retreat or night away and learning along with me and others that rest is not a reward or a luxury, it’s a practice that we all should make time for.
