The Residency Training Program in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is designed to provide residents with education and a comprehensive evaluation of medical and surgical management of patients of all ages with diseases and disorders that affect the ears, upper respiratory and upper alimentary system and related structures
in the head and neck. UB Otolaryngology offers five university-based and twenty one community-based volunteer attending surgeons, with all subspecialties represented. Rotations are completed at Erie County Medical Center, a large level 1 trauma center, Sisters of Charity, a community hospital, Western New York's only stand alone pediatric hospital Women & Children's Hospital, and the nation's first NCI designated cancer institute, Roswell Park. Previous residents have enjoyed great success matching to fellowship training, or obtaining positions on academic faculties or in reputable private practices, with approximately 50% choosing to pursue fellowships.
