Did you know that college students are at a higher risk for problem gambling than adults? Studies show that problem gambling affects up to 6% of college aged students, which is more than double the rate of the general population. If you find yourself struggling with gambling harm, or if you suspect someone you know is facing such challenges, don’t hesitate to seek help. For 24/7 support, call the NYS OASAS HOPEline at 1-877-846-7369 or text 467369. Or choose your county using our interactive map on our NYProblemGamblingHELP.org HOME PAGE to see the contact information for the Problem Gambling Resource Center (PGRC) in your region.

Contribute to the prevention of opioid misuse and overdoses by properly disposing of unused prescription medications:

Pharmacy Drop-off: Bring your unused or expired medications to a local pharmacy. Look for local programs and year-round drop-off sites.

Drug Disposal Bags: Obtain a bag designed to safely dissolve pills before disposal.

Annual Take-back Events: Join local events for anonymous medication disposal.

On the National Day of Racial Healing, January 20, you're invited to a free screening of a documentary called "It Is Up to Us" by Stephen McKinley Henderson and Steven Rosenthal. The film explores the history and impact of racism and how learning about it can help us shape the future to come.

NACS will host a healing circle on January 27 at our Buffalo offices. We welcome anyone who has watched the film by that time to join us.
