World Health Organization (WHO)
Another amazing highlight of Cheri Carroll-Alvarez and Kendra Elliott NYC trip was spending time with Alana Officer from the World Health Organization.
Alana walked into the room already understanding Compeer’s mission and model, which immediately created the foundation for a powerful and productive conversation. Her knowledge of our work, combined with her genuine belief in what we are building, was both energizing and affirming.
We had the opportunity to discuss the growing importance of social connection and mental health, and how community-based models like Compeer can play a critical role in improving lives. Her encouragement around our next phase of growth meant more than we can fully express. Not only because of the opportunities discussed, but because it was a reminder that this work matters on every level, from local communities to the global stage.
I’m deeply grateful for leaders like Alana who recognize the power of human connection and the need to invest in solutions that create hope, healing, and belonging.
Thank you, Alana, for your time, encouragement, and vision. Our team left inspired and even more committed to the mission ahead.
More highlights to come 😊
