HighPointe on Michigan was opened in 2011 as the culmination of a project which combined two Kaleida Health long-term care facilities, Deaconess Hospital and Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, into one 300-bed, state of the art facility. Through integrating these legacy services adjacent to Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute on the Buffalo Niagara Medica

l Campus, Kaleida Health created a one of a kind long-term care facility to meet the needs of our community. HighPointe provides varying levels of care for both the adult and pediatric population, including ventilator-dependent or medically complex care, subacute care, dementia care, and traditional long-term care.

Residents at HighPointe are tapping into their creative side with a little help from a volunteer named Leena. She leads an interactive creative writing group where residents explore various forms of poetry and storytelling and even collaborate on writing projects together!

Thanks to the guiding green thumb of Raquel, Human Resource Business Partner, HighPointe's garden club has sprouted! Residents spent the morning adopting and naming plants that they will care for. The group will meet monthly to explore new plant and projects. 🌿

Residents had a great time soaking up the sunshine, savoring the delicious smell of hotdogs and hamburgers sizzling on the grill, and digging into all the classic summer sides. Thank you to all the wonderful staff that make this tradition possible.

Residents at HighPointe on Michigan had a blast celebrating National Pink Flamingo Day! They enjoyed fun water games with a flamingo twist and indulged in refreshing raspberry ice cream to cool off. Such a fun day!
