📣 BDS is so pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships toward labor support to pregnant people who are currently experiencing financial hardship.

✨You must be due between September 15 and January 15 to qualify.
✨You must complete an application and submit proof of income to indicate financial need.

A maximum of 2 due dates per month will be offered the opportunity to book our basic labor support package at a *significantly* reduced rate.

I’ve seen the same post a few times this week: it’s a doctor reminding people of the size of an epidural needle, so they wish their mothers a . It irks me.

So… just a reminder that there is no easy way to become or be a mother. Whether a birth was medicated or not, vaginal or cesarean. Whether you carried and birthed your child yourself, or someone else did. However one becomes a mother, mothers are required - over and over again - to split themselves in two, to be born again, to change and flex and mold themselves to be who their child needs them to be. To sacrifice, in every sense, and put another before themselves.

Creators and sustainers of life, we are offered one day of recognition, even as our rights are being stripped away and our lives threatened regularly.

So, however you became a mother… We see you. We cherish you. We recognize your sacrifice, your mental and emotional load, and the many ways you keep going when the world weighs heavy.

We love you. Happy Mother’s Day ❤️✊

Hey there! 👋 Yes, I’m still alive — I’ve just been swept into the wild dual-realm of summer parenting and running a very busy business (turns out being your own boss means your boss is kind of a jerk about time off). I’ve also dramatically reduced my screen time to avoid being sucked into the social media vortex of doom, outrage, and ads for things I mentioned once to a friend at dinner.

Also, remember when I started my own business to have more flexibility and be there for my kids? When school’s out, I go into full mom mode: part camp counselor, part snack dispenser, part reluctant referee.. and, of course, also partaking in that radical social experiment called ✨being present✨

So, if I’m quiet here, don’t panic — I’ve just been drafted into the chaotic jungle of summer parenting. I’ll emerge sunburnt, questionably sane, and mildly feral.

Stay safe, find joy, pay attention, fight for those without your privilege, and FDT 🫠

Birthing folks in the area, join us on the second Wednesday of each month for a Postpartum Support Circle! Free and open to the public, this circle is primarily focused on the first 6-8 months .🧑‍🍼🤱

⭕️ Why a “circle?” A circle is a gathering of members of a community characterized by thoughtful preparation, powerful questions, and an egalitarian structure. Everyone is invited to participate and all voices are considered equally important. Every participant will have a chance to speak to each topic or question without interruption.

⭕️ Circles are one of the oldest forms of group process. Indigenous and first peoples cultures from around the world used and continue to use circle processes to facilitate community conversations about important subjects. Circles facilitate deep listening, and create a sense of community for all involved.

The BDS Postpartum Support Circle is rooted firmly in the following ethical beliefs:
