In both my massage therapy practice and my musical life, I’ve learned that the more we fixate on a specific outcome, the further we drift from what’s truly transformative.
I believe creative expression in its purest form has healing properties. Whether I’m making music or giving a bodywork session, the process unfolds from within. Healing isn’t something we can force—it’s something we listen for. And not just with our ears, but with our entire bodies.
Sometimes that means tuning into the quiet sense that something feels off. Other times, it means speaking up, slowing down, or adjusting course. The invitation is always the same: notice what’s true in the moment.
While healing can absolutely happen in solitude, I’m constantly fascinated and often delighted by what arises in the presence of others. Bodywork can feel deeply intimate—sometimes awkward, sometimes overwhelming—because it’s often one-on-one.
Making music with others is even more dynamic. With multiple nervous systems in play, things can get complicated—or beautifully amplified. When we’re all tuned in to what’s happening in the moment, the resonance is undeniable.
And at the core of it all—whether it’s sound or silence, touch or stillness—it always comes back to the same thing:
Presence.
