It’s been a busy summer! My two biggest babies have back to back July birthdays, a family vacation, baby girl has been teething hard, and ALL of my July mamas delivered early (still full term).

So, I’ve been enjoying this bit of a break for the past week! I’m so grateful for being chosen to support families welcoming and caring for their new babies while I still get to love on mine. 🤎

What fun are y’all getting into? I could use some more ideas 🫧

🗣️Annual Reminder!!

Share this with anyone trying to tell you otherwise! I’ll talk to them for you 😉

🚨This is very important to know as temperatures are beginning to rise. 🥵 Water is not needed for healthy breastfed babies in a hot climate.

Tips:
💫Feed your baby whenever they show feeding cues or signs of hunger
💫Make sure to watch for wet diapers (at least 6 in 24 hours)
💫Try to nurse lying down or using football hold, instead of cradle holding baby 🤱🏾 to reduce body heat transfer.

🌟Moms take care of you as well & stay hydrated, too! 😉

Your milk is wonderfully made and will adjust to give your baby all of the hydration they need!
Keep up the good work 🤎

Currently reading… and came across this and had to pause & catch my breath from laughing so hard 🤣🤣😭

But honestly? Not too far off!

Except… I’m not yelling from the sidelines (unless you’re into that lol).

✨How I will be there for you is:

✔️ Remind you to breathe when things feel intense.

✔️ Help your partner show up in a way that actually helps.

✔️ Translate hospital lingo so you can make empowered decisions.

✔️ Hold space when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

✔️ Be in your corner with hip squeezes, a birth ball & the calm energy you didn’t know you needed.

✔️ Know when to speak up and when to just let you breathe through it.

AND we’ll have a game plan- but I’m also here if the whole plan flies out the window & you want to switch it up.

Being a doula isn’t about telling you what to do. It’s about helping you feel held, heard, and ready…wherever birth takes you.

If this sounds like something you’d want on your team- you know where to find me. 😉

Always love,

Your Doula Breastie ✌🏾🤎

Your postpartum bathroom deserves as much care as your birth plan.
Here’s how I set mine up: for peace, comfort, and real healing.
This isn’t a Pinterest-perfect setup. It’s what I actually use after giving birth… and it’s made all the difference. Let’s walk through it...

THE CABINET SETUP:
No one wants to shuffle around searching for a pad. Everything has a home. It’s easy to grab, easy to restock.

CLEANING + HEALING:
If you can’t sit comfortably or p*e without wincing, this is the game-changer combo.

✔️ Peri bottle: Use every single time you urinate. Skip wiping- you can pat dry. It rinses with warm water to reduce sting and flush away bacteria.

✔️ Sitz bath: Warm soaks increase blood flow, reduce swelling, and help prevent infection. Even 10 minutes a day helps you feel more human.

🌟Pro tip: Place a towel behind your back for support and treat it like a mini ritual. Healing can be sacred and simple.

DISPOSABLE UN**ES:
Forget lace. What you need is breathable, high-waisted comfort that holds everything together- literally. Always Discreet are so comfy. PLUS 🌟Avoiding Extra Laundry!

THE fridamom POWER TRIO:
✔️Instant Ice Pad: Cold therapy plus absorbency. This relieves swelling, pain & that hot throbbing feeling right after delivery.

✔️Pad Liners: Thin, long witch hazel wipes BUT better! You layer these right on top of your pad. They cool on contact, reduce irritation & make each bathroom trip less dreadful.

✔️Healing Foam: Light, soothing foam that coats the area without rubbing or friction. It supports tissue healing and acts like a barrier between you and the pad- complete comfort.

PADS YOU CAN TRUST because not all pads are created equal. Your healing tissue doesn’t need perfumes, dyes, or chemicals.
That’s why I use:
✔️ L. pads- Clean, affordable, and widely available.
✔️ The Honey Pot Company pads- Infused with soothing botanicals, and made for sensitive skin.

Having both options lets you switch based on comfort, flow, or sensation.

HOSPITAL SUPPLIES + MY HEALING SPACE:

I reused a small basket to keep the Dermaplast spray, witch hazel pads & my Earth Mama Organics sitz tea bags ready. My toilet: Surrounded by a few plants, soft lighting, and peace.

Your bathroom can feel like a sanctuary, not just a survival zone.

I built this for me, but I’m sharing it for you. For mamas who want to heal soft, slow, and steady.

If you want help planning your own healing setup, I got you. This is what I do… postpartum support, made personal. Drop your questions below about what to stock or how to make it work in a small space!

Tag a new parent. Share with your bestie.

And make sure you’re following… there’s more where this came from.

Always love,

Your Doula Breastie ✌🏾🤎

IYKYK… the postpartum bathroom setup is NOT the time to wing it- because it quickly becomes one of the most used spaces during postpartum healing!

After baby #5, this setup is what actually helped me heal without the midnight scavenger hunts for pads, foam, or a clean towel.

Tomorrow, I’m sharing my real notes on what I use, how I set it up, and why it matters.

Got questions about what to stock, when to start, or how to make it work in a small space? Drop them below and I’ll answer what I can in the post!

Make sure you’re following so you don’t miss it.

Always love,

Your Doula Breastie ✌🏾🤎

Happy Mother’s Day to the Moms holding it down in all the ways… feeding babies, juggling schedules, answering “whyyy?” for the 100th time, but still showing up with love (and maybe snacks).

Whether today feels big and beautiful or just like a regular Sunday with extra crumbs on the floor, you deserve to be celebrated- I celebrate you!

Always love,

Your Doula Breastie ✌🏾🤎

✨It’s International Day of the Midwife✨ and I’ve gotta show love to Mama Jennie Joseph.

She isn’t just a midwife: she’s a powerhouse and a true catalyst for change- flipping the whole system on its head and building something better.

I met her two years ago at a birth conference during a period I was feeling very burnt out and discouraged. There was a moment when she was speaking to the room & looked around and it felt like her eyes landed on me when she said, “Don’t give up. We need you.” That moment has stayed with me

I’ve admired her for years, but meeting her? That lit a whole new fire in me!!

Her work isn’t just improving outcomes- it’s centering real, respectful care… and it’s saving lives!

**To every midwife out here fighting for better outcomes, more respect, and truly empowered births** Thank You! 🤎

We spend so much time preparing for birth but what about life after baby arrives?

Postpartum Support International is an incredible resource to help you plan for the emotional, mental, and physical changes that come with the fourth trimester.

Don’t skip the part where you prepare for you.🤎

Did you know that PSI offers a FREE postpartum planning class for 2nd and 3rd trimester expectant parents? All expectant parents are welcome: moms, birthing people, non-gestational parents, partners, couples, and single parents. If you are expecting a baby soon, we welcome you to join us.

We will focus on the parents’ mental health and emotional well-being during the postpartum period. The class will include education, interactive discussion, reviewing our postpartum plan, filling out sections of the plan, and resource building. This class is not focused on how to care for baby. This class is about your emotional and mental wellbeing as it pertains to: managing expectations, self nourishment, creating a support network, and understanding the many different perinatal mood challenges that can occur.
