Ronald McDonald House Charities of WNY Supporting families with sick or injured children receiving medical treatment in Buffalo, NY. Celebrating 40 years of service!
(1)

Families are stronger when they are together, which helps in the healing process. By staying at a Ronald McDonald House, parents can better communicate with their child’s medical team and keep up with complicated treatment plans when needed. They can also focus on their child's health rather than grocery shopping, cleaning, or cooking meals.

This might sound a bit cheesy...but we're grateful to Lactalis USA for the monthly donation of string cheese to our Family Room at Oishei Children's Hospital! The Family Room provides all families with a patient in the hospital a space to take a break from the hospital’s stress, have a moment of relaxation, and recharge with complimentary beverages and snacks while staying close to their child’s bedside.

The Family Room is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am-3:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8 am-11:30 am. 🧀❤

The 24th Annual WNYRIC Open, held over the summer at Chestnut Hill Country Club, raised $10,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of WNY, exceeding last year's total by $ 4,000! We are amazed and incredibly grateful!

The Friends of the WNYRIC committee is comprised of current and former employees of Erie 1 BOCES, as well as their family members, all of whom are connected to the Western New York Regional Information Center (WNYRIC), and has donated over $92,500 across 22 years. Thank you very much for your continued support of our mission over the years. ❤

NICU Awareness Month is an initiative celebrated every September to honor and support families with fragile newborns and the dedicated healthcare professionals within neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). This month serves as a reminder of the profound challenges faced by families with premature and critically ill infants.

Our Ronald McDonald House has the privilege of supporting many families with babies receiving care in NICUs at our area hospitals, including Nicole and Drew's family. Baby Harley was born 10 weeks early, weighing only three pounds at birth, and faced a number of challenges being born prematurely. Nicole, Drew, and their toddler Charlie live over an hour away from Buffalo and have been staying at our Ronald McDonald House while Harley receives care and medical support in order to be strong enough to go home. We are so grateful to be this family's "home away from home" during their journey!

This semester, students from the Jacobs School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences - University at Buffalo have been volunteering with our Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart at Sisters of Charity Hospital. As a volunteer for our Hospitality Cart, you play a crucial role in supporting families just steps away from their child’s bedside. We're seeking Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart volunteers at both Oishei Children’s Hospital and Sisters of Charity Hospital who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families during their most challenging moments.

Simple comforts, such as an activity book, snacks, a toy to play with, and a smiling face can brighten both a child's and their parents' day, and support families with small acts of kindness. Your time and care can bring hope and comfort when they need it most.

If you're ready to make a difference, click the link in the comments and start your journey with us today.

On Isabel’s birthday, she and Andrew were surprised to be discharged with their newborn baby a few days earlier than expected. Isabel exclaimed, "This is the best birthday I've ever had!" We hope you enjoyed the rest of your special day and are settling in well at home. Best wishes to Isabel and Andrew as they begin this new chapter together with their little one! ❤

Budget Blinds of Williamsville graciously donated replacement and installation of new blinds throughout our House! The new blinds comply with current safety standards and add a touch of elegance to the House. The revised safety standard reduces the strangulation risk posed by corded window coverings ‎to young children, which was incorporated into law by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Thank you so much, Budget Blinds of Williamsville, for your generous contribution and exceptional service! We are grateful for your support of RMHC of WNY’s mission to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.
