Families are stronger when they are together, which helps in the healing process. By staying at a Ronald McDonald House, parents can better communicate with their child’s medical team and keep up with complicated treatment plans when needed. They can also focus on their child's health rather than grocery shopping, cleaning, or cooking meals.

Team members from our local Target came in for a tour and graciously volunteered at the House, stocking our pantry with a variety of goodies. Despite the rain, they cleaned up our hedges, weeded, and did a lot of cleaning around the House. We're deeply appreciative when companies encourage and provide time for their staff to volunteer with us. These types of community connections and help around the House are invaluable.

We want to take a moment to honor the life and legacy of Jim Murray. Jim played a crucial role in establishing the first-ever Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia in 1974. His tireless service and dedication to the mission of the Ronald McDonald House Charities made it possible for the now 391 Ronald McDonald Houses worldwide to provide hope and comfort to families. Sending our love and support to our friends at Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region and Jim Murray's family as they mourn his loss.

Access for All, a $1.2 million capital improvement project, includes key renovations and improvements, such as a front entrance ramp, handicap-accessible bathrooms on the first and second floors, updated Guest room accessibility, and an elevator!

A home-cooked meal holds a special place for our guests staying at the House. Having one less thing to worry about after spending a day at the hospital with their loved one means a lot. We're looking for helping hands to cook dinner for our guests from August 31 to September 6. Being a Meal Maker is a fun and rewarding activity for coworkers, social clubs, neighborhood groups, and friends.

Out of town, but still want to help? Consider coordinating a takeout order for our guests or donating a gift card to your favorite restaurant!

We're honored once again to be the dedicated charity for the Olcott Beach Car Show! We need volunteers to sell 50/50 tickets at the car show next Saturday, August 30, for two or four-hour shifts from 8 am to 4:30 pm. By participating in the largest car show in Western New York, you also support the work we do. We hope to see you there. ❤

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces today at our Ice Cream Social for patients and their families at Oishei Children's Hospital. In partnership with Anderson's Main St, Williamsville, we wanted to bring one of the best joys of summer to those receiving care: ice cream!

Thank you to all who came and to Anderson's Frozen Custard for providing the sweet treats! Our hearts are truly filled, and so are our stomachs 🍨❤

There’s nothing more appreciated during a family’s stay at our House than a home-cooked meal and a clean, comfortable place to call a home away from home. On , you can support our Meal Makers with:
- The following items to improve our kitchen: kitchen sink strainer, olive oil dispenser, salt/pepper shakers, and pot holders

Last weekend, we gave 32 tickets to families who have stayed with us in the past year to see the Buffalo Bills' preseason game against the New York Giants! This game was on "Kids Day" presented by Fisher-Price, which included activities for the family. We're grateful to provide these types of experiences to the families we serve. No matter when you've stayed with us, you'll always be a part of the Ronald McDonald House Family!

In the last two weeks, we've said goodbye and best wishes to 10 families as they headed home after a combined stay of 146 days! We're grateful to have welcomed so many families to our House and to have been your home away from home.

Over 30 volunteers from Mower Agency and M&T Bank gave the House an inside and out makeover! Mower's team spent a hot afternoon trimming hedges, weeding, cleaning outside furniture, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bedrooms. M&T folks were the first-ever Love is Served volunteers, packing 51 lunches to serve at the Family Room at Oishei Children's Hospital, and once finished, cleaned our kitchen. We couldn't do what we do without the gracious efforts of volunteers. Your efforts will make a significant impact on the families who stay in the House and are at Oishei Children's Hospital. We cannot thank you enough for your dedication and hard work!
