Don’t make these mistakes this winter! 🌨️⛄️

❅ Using your summer skincare routine
What works in humid summer months often isn’t enough in the winter. Cold air, wind, and indoor heating can strip your skin of moisture, leading to dryness and irritation. Winter is the time to swap in richer moisturizers, gentler cleansers, and extra hydration.

❆ Over-exfoliating dry skin
When skin feels dry or flaky, exfoliating more can actually make things worse. Over-exfoliation damages your skin barrier, causing redness, sensitivity, and increased dryness. In winter, scale back and focus on barrier repair and hydration instead.

❅ Taking long, hot showers
As relaxing as they feel, hot showers strip your skin of its natural oils. This can leave skin tight, itchy, and dehydrated. Opt for lukewarm water and shorter showers to help protect your skin barrier.

❆ Forgetting SPF
Just because it’s cold doesn’t mean the sun isn’t damaging your skin. UV rays are present year-round—and can even reflect off snow. Daily SPF helps prevent premature aging, sun damage, and pigmentation, even in winter.

❅ Skipping body care
Moisturizing skin while it is still damp (post-shower) locks in existing moisture, boosts hydration, and enhances product absorption. Damp skin is more permeable, allowing lotions to seal in water and form a protective barrier, reducing water loss and preventing dryness.

❆ Not getting a hydrating facial
Summer skin is made in the winter. Cold weather and indoor heating can dehydrate and weaken the skin barrier, making winter the ideal time to focus on hydration and repair. Hydrating facials help restore moisture and strengthen the skin, creating a healthy foundation for glowing skin in the warmer months ahead.
