My passion is helping people to get out of pain so they can get back to their favorite sports and activities! I provide one hour physical therapy sessions so I can look at the way your whole body moves, find compensation patterns and help break the cycle of pain you are in! For those committed to making real lasting changes, I have an online coaching program that includes virtual or in person assessments and customized exercises sent right to an app on your phone. I pay special attention to the way you breathe and use your core muscles to help you function better from your core out to your extremities. And I also assess your feet to help you move better from the ground up. I specialize in treating foot pain because I feel the is a misunderstood part of our bodies. Rather than propping up our feet in stiff cushioned shoes with arch supports and orthotics, most people would benefit from getting their feet stronger so they can move well from the ground up and unleash their full potential!

Are your feet absorbing shock?

Here are 3 signs that they aren’t:

1. Your feet pound loudly when you walk 

Your feet land “hard” when they’re not absorbing shock & tend to be loud 


2. Your feet always look high arched, you never see your arches drop

Ideally, your feet move form the higher arched foot shape, to a flatter foot shape when you land & accept body weight onto that foot (pidcture a trampoline stretching & accepting body weight)


3. Your feet always look flat & sort of flopped toward the ground 

If your feet are always flat then they don’t get that active stretch as they accept your weight, because they are already overstertched with your arches spilled onto the ground

Why does this matter?

Not absorbing shock can contribute to pain. You might feel it in your feet, knees, back or somewhere else.

Lack of shock absorption also causes you to drain energy faster because you lose the “spring in your step”.

When you absorb shock effectively you should feel more energetic & have less stiffness & pain when you walk & run.

How do you fix this problem?

Train your feet to cycle from the higher arched foot shape (supination) to the lower arched foot shape (pronation).

Learn to use foot wedges to wake up your feet to these vital patterns & to imrpove shock absorption.

Learning this truly is a game changer if you want to feel your best & be motivated to stay active as you age.

Deanna was dealing with plantar fasciitis & heel pain.

The arch supports recommended by her doctor led to a a flare up of knee pain.

I evaluated her & assigned exercises based on some missing movement patterns we discovered and now she’s walking & hiking 3 miles no problem!

Why orthotics & injections are not the best solution for foot pain, flat feet or high arched feet:

Injections may reduce pain temporarily, or they may not at all. And they are painful (who really wants a needle jabbing into an already painful foot?!).

And injections contribute to breakdown of the tissue...isn’t this the opposite of healing?

Injecting a panful foot is not addressing WHY the foot hurts. It’s slapping on a band aid & hoping for the best.

Orthotics prop up your feet in what someone thinks is an “ideal” foot shape.

But the problem is....we should be spiraling in & out of the high & low arched foot shapes with every step we take...THIS leads to fluid walking & running, especially when you connect these 2 foot shapes with the 2 leg shapes & 8 body shapes we should be making when we walk & run.

So instead of propping up our feet in a specific foot shape - how about training them to get good at making BOTH FOOT SHAPES?

And then exploring & refining the 2 leg shapes & 8 body shapes that help us walk & run more effortlessly?

Plagued by ankle problems such as stiffness, instability or recurrent sprains?

Or maybe you’re dealing with painful foot issues such as plantar fasciitis, heels spurs, flat feet, high arched feet or Morton’s Neuroma?

No one seems to talk about this, but when you have issues with ankle sprains or foot pain over & over again, you can really lose confidence.

Maybe you hesitate to make fun or adventurous plans because you worry your ankle will roll for the 12th time or your foot pain will flare up again.

You choose the couch more & more because it feels safe.

The great news is you can train your feet & ankles to move better & support you with confidence.

Regular physical therapy exercises are just too basic.

Calf stretches & calf raises are not a good solution. Towel scrunches can make your feet worse. Exercising your foot & ankle with a band does not train them to support you well when we walk or run. 

What you really need is exercises that take your feet & ankles through the movements they should be doing naturally when you walk & run. 

They feel challenging in a way that you KNOW they are worth your time & effort. 

You can feel them improve your walking pattern right after you do them.

My passion is to teach you more about your body so that you can rid yourself of pain and injury, and enjoy life more!

I provide thorough evaluation of your posture, movement patterns, breath patterns, muscle strength, flexibility and balance.

I look for compensation patterns using NKT (Neurokinetic Therapy ÂŽ). I am the only physical therapist in the Buffalo NY area that is certified in NKT Level 2. Most of us have many dysfunctional movement patterns, my goal is to zone in on the most important ones in your body, to help you get out of pain faster.
