We are excited for this year's Chautauqua Dental Congress, which is taking place at the Harbor Hotel in Celeron, NY on Thursday, June 18th and Friday, June 19th. We will be presenting three lectures for dentists, and three lectures for hygienists and staff. Each lecture will be worth 3 credit hours. In the next couple of weeks we will be showcasing the presenters and their course offerings. Next up is Colleen Huff, FAADOM
Course: Smart Dental Coding for the Administrative & Clinical Team
This course equips dentists, dental assistants, and hygienists, along with the administrative team, with the practical skills they need to enter treatment accurately, support clean claims, and protect the practice from lost revenue and compliance risks. Participants will learn how to link what happens chairside to what gets submitted on claims so that documentation, billing choices, and clinical notes all tell the same story. The result is a more confident team, fewer rejected claims, and a stronger partnership between the clinical and administrative sides of the practice. In addition, the course highlights how accurate, transparent billing and clear division of responsibilities help reduce opportunities for embezzlement and other financial misconduct. By the end of the session, each attendee will understand their role in safeguarding both the integrity and the profitability of the practice.
Once you have completed this course, you will: Understand how clinical notes, images, and charting drive accurate procedure selection, identify common chairside entry mistakes that delay or reduce insurance payment, recognize documentation requirements that support claim approval and audits, strengthening collaboration between clinical and front office teams around billing, and will learn simple daily habits that reduce errors, rework, and potential fraud.
