At times it’s easy to dwell on the negative.
When the bad out there feels overwhelming take a step back and breathe.
Readjust.
Focus on the good and the good keeps getting better.

If you claim to be a yogi and support the atrocities being carried out by ICE then I must seriously implore you to reconsider your stance.
You cannot claim to be on a path that exemplifies non-violence and emphasizes the importance of connections to others whilst sitting back and watching as our communities experience government-sanctioned violence.

Staying silent is not an option. The issues happening in our country are too important not to amplify. Every voice matters and is crucial in the combined public pressure for change. Failure to speak up is complacency.

I fear we are witnessing the erasure of people’s ability to process emotions and social pain leading to more isolation and an even larger divide.

We have to feel for one another. We are not separate, we are all united in humanity. Even if you are not a yogi, these are your neighbors being unjustly and forcibly displaced and in other instances whose lives are being taken completely.

We stand with the people of Minnesota
We stand for kindness, peace and unity for all
We stand against ICE

Just a little bit of empathy goes a long way.

There’s magic in this season.
And not because the barrage of holiday festivities.
When we embrace winter and stop wishing for summer the things that at once seemed unfathomable become possible.
Slowing down, saying no to a full a schedule, increasing your free time, getting enough sleep, listening within, finding quiet, recuperating…

Winter is not death.
It’s an incredible opportunity for you to experience a metamorphosis.
Change is consistent.
Accept and find the purpose in the different seasons.
Align with the natural cycles for personal growth.

With this past Monday being National Take a Hike day, we have Wednesday wisdom for you today inspired by the great outdoors!

Getting to lead some guided, meditative hikes this past season was the highlight of our summer. AND we’re ecstatic to be participating in another one this weekend with our friends

At this Sunday’s SOLD OUT scream retreat, we’ll utilize the grounding properties of the forest to connect inward so we can collectively let out the frustrations we’ve all been holding with a nice loud yell.

Calm isn’t about being quiet. It’s about recognizing and connecting with our emotions so we can express, release and regulate rather than suppress.

Cover your ears 🙉 Sunday around 3pm it’s gonna get noisy 🗣️

Ahimsa.
This is the definition from Merriam-Webster dictionary.
In the eight-fold path of yoga, outlined in the yoga sutras, it’s the first of the Yamas (external ethics) and it means non-violence, not just in speech and action but in the thoughts and mind.
It means accepting, practicing kindness and showing compassion for ourselves and all creation.
When you have the ability to choose your thoughts why not have a positive regard for everyone and everything? The way we perceive things frames the entire world around us.

Just be nice.

An important reminder not just for the upcoming season, not just for certain current happenings in our country but for always.

Ram Dass was a guru of modern yoga and one of America’s most beloved spiritual teachers. He founded the Hanuman Foundation and taught workshops on conscious aging and dying around the United States. The Love Serve Remember Foundation was organized to preserve and continue his teachings and those of Neem Karoli Baba. He died in Maui in 2019 at the age of 88.

We had so much fun at our first one we couldn’t wait to do it again! Join us for another magical afternoon of connection with nature and the self in the beautiful woods of East concord, NY.

Sunday, November 2nd at 11am

We’ll embark on an intentional ~2 mile walk among the trees, pausing frequently to notice our surroundings and discuss the benefits of shinrin yoku, forest bathing. Halfway through, we’ll stop. participants will receive tarot readings as we meditate and share snacks by the creek dipping our toes in the water.

Plan on spending at least 2.5 hours to fully immerse and experience the effects. Please Bring water to stay hydrated. A towel or blanket to sit on as you receive your reading and a notebook are optional. Lite bits will be provided.
