It is with heavy heart to inform everyone that our dear friend Meme Reidy entered into eternal rest Monday night. Please keep her family in your prayers

Maryann Riedy “Meme”, of West Seneca, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 15, 1952, in South Buffalo to the late Joseph A. Donohue and late Estelle Donohue (née Chowaniec).

Maryann was the beloved wife of Timothy D. Riedy for 52 years, and a devoted mother to Tim (Laura) Riedy and Kelli (Andrew) Prior. She was the proud and loving grandmother—and best friend—to Claire and Timmy Riedy, who were truly the light of her life. She is also survived by loving brother Joseph Donohue (Esther) and Ray Donohue, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Known affectionately as “Meme,” Maryann dedicated many years of her career as a pediatric nurse and medical office manager. After retiring, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to volunteer service, particularly within Irish Catholic organizations based at the Buffalo Irish Center. She was a proud member of the Daughters of Erin, St. Patrick’s Club, Irish Cultural Organization, Buffalo Irish Festival and the Buffalo Feis Committee, serving in numerous leadership roles, including National President of the Daughters of Erin. In recognition of her tireless dedication, she was honored with the prestigious Tara Award, an achievement she was very proud of.

Meme was also an avid fan of baseball, particularly the Boston Red Sox. Maryann also gave countless hours of service to Queen of Heaven Parish, where she taught Religious Education, served on the Annual Carnival Committee, acted as a Eucharistic Minister, Minister to the Sick, and as a greeter at weekly Mass. Deeply devout in her faith, she lived her life with compassion, generosity, and unwavering care for others. Whatever the situation, you could count on receiving a greeting card in the mail from Meme. No prior visitation. Private interment was held at the convenience of the family. A Catholic Holy Memorial Mass will be at Queen of Heaven Parish in West Seneca on Tuesday December 30th at 10:15 A.M.

In lieu of flowers or donations to honor Meme, please do a small act of kindness for someone. Call a loved one by phone, just to let them know you care. Smile at a stranger and remember never to let a moment go by without telling those you love, how much they mean to you. You never know what others may be dealing with, or their “story”. Kindness can go a long way, and that is how Meme should be remembered. Online condolences at www.CANNANFH.com
