People from our Certified Day Habilitation enjoyed a day in the park, playing games and socializing with others all while enjoying the great outdoor weather. Outing like this help promote community engagement, socialization, and wellness in the people we support.

Supplies for the outing were provided with a mini grant from the Community Services Support Foundation. The grant provided outdoor essentials like chairs, sun protection, and games, making it possible for everyone to enjoy accessible recreation together.

Laughter, smiles, and new friendships filled the air at the 2025 Creating Connections Picnic at Fireman’s Park in Tonawanda! This annual celebration brought together the people we support and staff for a truly unforgettable day of fun, relaxation, and togetherness.

From savory picnic favorites to friendly competitions and creative activities, there was something for everyone to enjoy. People played games side by side, while others found a moment of calm coloring and drawing. The highlight of the afternoon? Hitting the dance floor as our live DJ kept the energy high with music that had everyone moving!

The entire day was a heartwarming reminder of what makes our community so special- people coming together, lifting each other up, and celebrating the joy of connection. At Community Services, we believe in creating spaces where every person feels welcomed and valued, because here, every1 Belongs! 🎉

Our Day Habilitation facility has a new cozy space for people to play games, read, listen to music, or just relax called “The Oasis.” The room features soothing seating, inviting lighting, and plenty of sensory items for everyone to enjoy. It has quickly become a favorite gathering place with staff hosting fun activities like game days, karaoke, and mini talent shows.

Thanks to Alyssa and her Certified Day Habilitation team for putting the room together and the Community Services Support Foundation which gave a mini grant to outfit the room. The Foundation addresses gaps in services and needs for people with developmental disabilities in the WNY area.

People supported by our Self-Directed Program enjoyed smoothies, face painting, live music and outdoor games at our Self-Directed Picnic. The picnic was a wonderful opportunity to bring together those in the Self-Directed Program with others and allowed them to share experiences and make new friends.

The picnic was funded through a mini-grant from the Community Services Support Foundation which addresses gaps in services for people with developmental disabilities in the WNY area.

Ryan and his mom enjoyed a trip to the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum with support from our Intensive Support Respite Program. Ryan enjoyed riding the carousels and even trying the aviation ride too! He did a fantastic job advocating for the areas that interested him most.

We wrapped up the trip with a walk at Niawanda Park, enjoying some fresh air, sunshine, and the serene water.

A big thank you to the fantastic volunteers from The Bonadio Group who helped clean up the grounds surrounding the Lyceum Apartments. The volunteers help pick up trash, pull weeds and weather-proof a fence. Thank you for helping make our community look beautiful!
