We’re excited to share that Compeer Buffalo will be part of Community Connections Day at Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus on Saturday, March 28, 2026!

Our team will be helping lead conversations about the importance of social connection and mental wellness in our community. Compeer’s Chief Strategy Officer, Lisa Johnson will be co-facilitating a group discussion on connection alongside Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Ebony Townes, our Volunteer Engagement Coordinator, will be representing Compeer at our table throughout the event.

In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, we’re highlighting women who have been powerful advocates for mental health.

First up is Dorothea Dix. Through her advocacy, she helped establish the first generation of humane mental health institutions in the United States and brought national attention to the treatment of those experiencing mental health challenges.
Her work reminds us that compassion, advocacy, and action can change lives.

The talent in the room was unbelievable, and it was a wonderful opportunity to connect with others and share in such a meaningful experience.💙💚
