Last night, Dallas County Family Medical Center wrapped up the final “Cooking is the Cure” class of 2025, closing out another successful year of cooking, learning and building healthier habits together. Families cooked side-by-side, tried new recipes and enjoyed a shared meal, then celebrated their hard work by selecting $500 worth of kitchen supplies of their choice for completing all four classes.

This program wouldn’t be possible without the support of so many, including:
• Dr. Taylor Pedersen, for her vision, passion and hard work to make this program a success.
• Rachel Badgett and Sherry Hillhouse, Dallas County Health Department, for leading the children’s activities.
• Diane McClaskey, CMH pharmacist, for her work in the kitchen.
• Jake Pearson, CMH dietitian, for teaching and sharing his passion for cooking.
• Buffalo Schools, for providing space and support throughout the series.
• Leah Kram
• Grenda Lewis
• Our clinic staff, for all their help with the kitchen and setup.
• Christie Wimberly
• Chyann Simpson
• Katlyn Moore
…and the many others who gave their time and energy.
