Earlier this week, we showcased our site partner, SSM Health—now meet the physicians who are making research a reality in the St. Louis community:

Dr. Yezaz Ghouri is a distinguished gastroenterologist at SSM Health DePaul Hospital. Dr. Ghouri specializes in treating inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and various gastrointestinal conditions, including ulcers, constipation, nausea, ulcerative colitis, and noninfectious gastroenteritis. His impressive research includes exploring treatments for Crohn’s disease.

Dr. Mudresh Mehta is an oncologist and hematologist at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital. His focus is on diagnosing and treating all types of cancers and hematological disorders, with research including a Phase 3 study on triple-negative breast cancer. His patients appreciate his personable approach and dedication to ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout their treatment.

Dr. Christiane Zoghbi is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist at SSM Health Outpatient Center. With a special interest in breast, colon, lung, and prostate cancers, as well as hematologic disorders, Dr. Zoghbi is dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art therapies while maintaining a good quality of life for her patients.

Continuing our Site Partner Highlight of SSM Health, today's showcase is our Madison, WI district!

So far, our team has partnered with 16 physicians across multiple therapeutic areas, including dermatology, surgery, hematology, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, pulmonology, and urology. Together, we have brought over 21 clinical trials to the Madison area in the past year and a half!

Next in our ongoing Site Partner Highlight series, we’re showcasing SSM Health!

SSM Health is a Catholic, not-for-profit health system providing high-quality, compassionate, and personalized care to communities across Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin. We partnered with them at the beginning of last year and, so far, we have helped bring clinical research to two new districts: Madison, WI, and St. Louis, MO.

Today, we're focusing on our St. Louis, MO district, where we have onboarded 11 physicians in gastroenterology, hematology, and oncology—with their collaboration, we have added over 18 trials. This partnership has allowed us to further expand cancer research, including trials focused on breast cancer treatment.

This is Part 2 of our Crystal Run Healthcare Research Physician Highlight!

Dr. Moyna Kapoor: Onboarded in May 2022, Dr. Kapoor is a nephrologist who has been practicing medicine for over 28 years with board certification in nephrology and internal medicine. She has participated in research related to chronic kidney disease (CKD) and is committed to patient education and empowerment.

Dr. Gurvinder Sethi: Onboarded in October 2021, Dr. Sethi specializes in oncology and hematology with over 21 years in healthcare. He chose his specialty because of the opportunity to make a difference in patients’ lives, especially with the many advancements in cancer care. He values building strong, supportive relationships with patients during challenging times.

Dr. Geoffrey Hulse: Onboarded in October of 2023, Dr. Hulse is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care, and sleep medicine, and has been practicing medicine for over 28 years. He has clinical interests in lung cancer, critical care medicine, lung disease, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and sleep medicine. He has participated in studies focused on COPD, asthma, and pulmonary sarcoidosis.

Dr. Michael Traub: Onboarded in July 2021, Dr. Traub specializes in family medicine with over seven years of medical experience. He has participated in studies related to bladder pain syndrome, ASCVD, and COPD. He values building strong, trusting relationships and works collaboratively to ensure patients feel informed and comfortable with their care plans.

Dr. Manuel Perry: Onboarded in October 2023, Dr. Perry specializes in oncology and hematology. He has been practicing medicine for over 35 years and has conducted research studying prostate cancer. He is dedicated to advancing cancer care through innovation and compassion. He believes in teamwork, resilience, and living each day to the fullest.

Dr. Steven Rowe: Onboarded in August 2021, bringing over 38 years of medical experience in urology. He has participated in research studying bladder cancer, overactive bladder, and interstitial cystitis (IC), also known as bladder pain syndrome (BPS). Dr. Rowe emphasizes patient comfort and understanding, taking the time to answer questions and reassure patients that they are not alone in their experiences.

Dr. Mitul Patel: Onboarded in January 2024, Dr. Patel is a cardiologist with over 13 years of experience in medicine and research experience in atrial fibrillation, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), and hypertension. He finds cardiology rewarding because it combines cutting-edge research and technology with a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care.

Dr. Uri Napchan: Onboarded in October 2022, Dr. Napchan is board-certified in neurology and pain medicine and brings decades of experience delivering care to patients. Dr. Kaitlyn Simpson: Onboarded recently in July 2025, Dr. Simpson specializes in family medicine with over six years of experience practicing medicine.
