Mercy Hospital is celebrating National Volunteer Week…an opportunity to thank our volunteers who lend their time and talent to make a difference at our hospital. Throughout this week, we would like to shine a light on some of our volunteers who inspire all of us to serve.
Linda Hodge has been a dedicated volunteer at Mercy Hospital’s main lobby desk since 2011—and dedicated is truly the word. This month, Linda celebrates her 14th anniversary of service and an incredible milestone of more than 3,600 volunteer hours!
Inspired by her mother-in-law, a longtime gift shop volunteer, and a positive hospital experience of her own in 2010, Linda chose to give her time and talents to Mercy. “It makes me feel so good that I can put a smile on someone’s face,” Linda shared, “especially when our hospital visitors often arrive feeling anxious or worried.”
