Im leading live yoga classes and hanging out. Twitch.tv/melscamp I’ve been a yoga teacher since 2006 and a passionate practitioner of yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, and kung fu Since 2004. I owned an art gallery in the Elmwood Village for many years featuring hundreds of local artists, musicians and performers. My passion is with the people to induce creativity, growth and transformation. My teaching styl

e is a bit laid back and straight forward, cutting away some of the barriers that prevent people from approaching their mat. I offer a variety of classes from gentle slow simple stretching to breath focused active movement. I provide an awareness for the energetic system and tools to tune up the vibrations. Certifications:Daoist Yoga Level 3 Spiritwind Internal ArtsUnified Yoga Teacher 200 hour YTT Peak BeingsI have been a community leader for over 15 years, providing our friends and neighbors with high quality events for all ages. I create works of art through painting, sculpture, in spaces and costumes. I am currently a wellness coach, teaching people healthy practices through hula hooping, yoga and qigong. I started college with the dream of becoming an art therapist. I have a genuine interest in people and seeing how they work, interact and respond to the world. I obtained a dual degree in studio art and psychology focusing on the figure and trying to bring everything together. I soon found out that an art therapist primarily only serves those the most in need and I would have limited access to reaching people.I starting practicing BauGau, Tai Chi, Dao Yin Lun Shen, and Qigong with Sifu Chik Mason in 2004. I gained certifications to guide Dao Yin yoga and Qigong in a group setting. I learned ancient teachings from China and India and transformed them into martial arts inspired dance movements. I lead classes and workshops, sharing the way of the energetic body.I open a gallery in 2007 and started hosting events and showing art work. I found this to be a great place to bring many people together for creative expression and artistic development. Over the next 8 years, I hosted over 500 events at the space and facilitated many budding artists to develop their work. I also served as the public relation and promotions person for The Buffalo Infringement Festival for 5 years, gaining lots of insight on the process of artists and the reaction from the public.. The festival features every type of art and artist from visual and installation to music and performance. Infringement continues to provide time and space for artists to show their work.In 2010, I found hula hooping. It was something I was never able to do as a child, so when i finally figured it out, I went all out with it. I started hooping all the time, learning new tricks and making the hoops to sell in the community. The popularity grew rapidly with Larkinville, BlueCross BlueShield and Canalside stocking up on Ultra Hoops to share with the community. I studied all of the great hoop trainers and learned the best way to take someone on a hoop journey. I have found that the hoop not only benefits the physical body, but also the mind and spirit. Hooping is a creative meditative movement that offers rewards with practice. I knew this would be become my vehicle for improving the lives of others.I open Ultra Hoops and Wellness in 2015 with the intention of bringing everything together to share with the public. I do corporate workshops, classes and special events for businesses and organizations that offer health and wellness incentives. I have a warm open positive attitude with high energy and healing intentions. I taught thousands of people the way of the hoop and how to tune into the physical body.

Yoga with Mel at the YMCA
Enjoy the present moment with me
Wednesdays 5pm yoga, 6pm qigong at William Emslie
Thursdays 5pm yoga on Delaware Ave
Yoga classes are for all levels and include breathing techniques, grounding, stretching, vinyasa flow and building internal energy.
Qigong focuses on energy work, moving the energy thru the body, removing blockages that cause stagnation and purifying/detoxifying the internal organs. We move through ancient forms and fresh movements that cause the most benefit with the least effort.
I have guest passes if you are not a member and to try.
Many blessings
