Mrs. Cox and her students have been working on counting change and counting change back in our Math Strategies class. Today we put together a store that consisted of real life scenarios. The students had a list of things they had to purchase from our store and had specific bills they would begin with and assist me with counting change back to them. This was our exit ticket to our lesson over money. The kids were engaged and loved being able to eat the snacks they purchased!

Congrats to our Cross Country team for their great showing at the conference meeting. 7th grader, Katilyn Schull was named to the all conference list for her 13th place finish. They will finish their season this weekend at the JH state competition. Good luck to all Bison runners.

Ms. Wallace’s 7th grade Science students explored DNA extraction using everyday materials like dish detergent, salt, isopropyl alcohol, water, and frozen strawberries! They successfully pulled out visible strands of DNA from the cells, connecting what they’ve learned about prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. This hands-on lab sets the stage for their upcoming studies on cell organelles—starting with the nucleus, where DNA lives!

As part of MSU’s Agency for Teaching, Leading, and Learning Go-To-Work day, a group of 7th and 8th graders interested in a career in technology visited Positronic. Students had the opportunity to learn about the manufacturing and engineering of connectors used for computers, aerospace, vehicles, and so much more.
