It is with great sadness we acknowledge the passing of our friend and Amerimed Associate Brandon Beck.

Brandon Beck served as an EMT with the Southeast Tennessee Division. He started with Amerimed in August of 2023 after having completed his EMT program. He had temporarily worked in the Security Department at Erlanger Hospital ED. During his time there he witnessed many of our crews as we helped behavioral health patients in the ED. Brandon was assigned to the overnight shift in our Chattanooga operations.

Tennessee Operations Manager, Michael Blevins recalls meeting Brandon during his initial interview. "He spoke to how he was drawn to our mission and how we approached the patients and their families. He said he had witnessed the way other services and law enforcement treated them and was surprised at how we handled them. The care and understanding our crews showed really made him want to be a part of our team." Michael continues, "He was a good and compassionate provider. Brandon worked hard and was always an upbeat person to have at the station. Brandon was a positive asset for our SETN division and he will be missed by all the associates."

Amerimed CEO, Dixon Marlow, said "It is a tragedy anytime we lose one of our valued team members before their time. I consider it an honor to serve alongside people like Brandon;. We are often called to place the needs of others before ourselves. It's hard to acknowledge that many of us have been in those same life circumstances as our patients. Our team's focus on our shared mission is truly extraordinary."

We ask that you keep all of Brandon's loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.

After finishing 2024 strongly, we are excited to head into a new year that holds so much promise. Because of our dedicated and talented employees, we are truly blessed.

Just another example of what it means to at Amerimed.

Recently one of our EMS crews in Northeast Tennessee was flagged down by pedestrians while they were returning to the station. They immediately recognized the emergency situation with a person receiving CPR near the road and did not hesitate to grab their equipment and assist – as there were no other emergency personnel on site, yet. With help from Amerimed’s dispatchers, the appropriate local authorities were contacted, and law enforcement and an assigned EMS unit arrived soon after. This caring and dedicated Amerimed crew stayed on site to assist and help ensure the patient got the needed care and was readied for transport by the local EMS crew to a nearby emergency room.

Even when not officially assigned, our crew from Unit 5421 showed what it means to be a part of Amerimed: don’t hesitate, do the right thing, help others, and make a difference in someone’s life.
