Our Story
We offer traditional Yoga in the Greater Atlanta Area using the internationally acclaimed scientific system Yoga in Daily Life. Our specialty is Yoga and Meditation courses which take practitioners progressively from gentle beginning Level 1 exercises to the very advanced Level 8. Each Yoga and Meditation Level lasts for 3 months and includes Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation), Asanas (yoga postures), Pranayam (breath exercises), and Self Inquiry meditation, Hath Yoga: Hatha means willpower, and here it refers to disciplined practice and behaviour using willpower and energy.
Hatha Yoga is the path of practice and purification - internal, as well as external. It is therefore an additional Yoga path to the four traditional paths. Regular practice of these exercises requires willpower and discipline and that is why this path is called Hatha Yoga.
HA-THA, also means sun and moon. This refers to the union and harmony of the sun and moon principles, which result from the practice of Hatha Yoga. There are six purification techniques that pertain to Hatha Yoga, called Shat Karma Kriyas or Shat Karmas. In the West, Asanas and Pranayamas are generally assigned to Hatha Yoga - they are actually a part of Raja Yoga. Hatha Yoga Kriyas help to purify the physical body, including the pranas (energy functions), and they also help to balance emotions. They are especially effective in enhancing our powers of concentration.
Additionally, hatha refers the four powers of will, with respect to the child - bal hath, woman - priya hath, king - raj hath, and the yogi - yog hath.
Part of each class: it's praised as the Master System for your Body, Mind and Soul.
