Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community supports a temporary moratorium on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Data Center development until additional information, education, and community discussion can take place.

This is not a statement against development or technology. We simply believe our community deserves the opportunity to fully understand the potential impacts, infrastructure considerations, safety concerns, and long-term implications before major decisions are made.

A temporary pause allows for thoughtful review, transparency, and informed decision-making for the benefit of everyone involved. We encourage respectful conversation and community engagement as this process moves forward.

There is a petition form at our front desk, if you'd like to stop and sign in support of this moratorium.
