Campbell University Public Health Providing students with a solid foundation in health care research and outcomes evaluation

Our students become public health leaders who work to transform the health of communities. With deep commitments to service learning and action research, the Campbell University Master of Science in Public Health program prepares students to be professionals in the field by engaging rural communities as valuable and accessible partners in achieving health equity. The focus of both the coursework a

nd student/faculty research will include the elimination of local health care disparities and development of local community health intervention and educational programs. Therefore, the program will help promote health and prevent disease in the local community and beyond.

We love our alumni! Thanks for your support, Dr. Niemi!! 🧡🐪

Excited to have 3x CPHS alum Julia Niemi (MSPH ‘17, MPAP ‘17, DHSc ‘23) as the featured speaker in Ms. Adams’ Population Health Class. Dr. Niemi is a familiar face around Smith Hall having earned three degrees and currently serving as an Adjunct Professor teaching the “Community Based Participatory Approaches” course for the Public Health program. Her deep love for Campbell and desire to give back led her to the CPHS Alumni board where she served as President and is currently serving as Secretary. When she’s not on campus, she works as a family medicine provider at Steadman-Wade Health Services Inc. in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Our senior nursing students learned so much from her!

Today’s IPE Event, Community as Case Study Leading Causes of Life and the Overdose Crisis, made a lasting impact on our students. 🧡

Through powerful conversations, personal stories, and hands on experiences, students reflected on what it truly means to care for patients beyond the clinical setting. From hearing a father’s story of loss to engaging with community partners and learning about naloxone, this event challenged and inspired future healthcare professionals to lead with compassion, connection, and purpose.

🎥 In this Reel series, our students and faculty share how this experience is shaping their perspective on patient care, advocacy, and their future careers in healthcare.

We are grateful for the opportunity to bring disciplines together to learn, reflect, and serve. This event was made possible through a Faith and Health Campus Grant from Interfaith America.

They have the right idea by proposing a moratorium on new constructions. But framing it in partisan terms risks fracturing the broad coalitions that have gotten us to this point.
