Today’s Monthly Mixer, “Shuffle into Springtime,” at the Senior Enrichment Center was a relaxing afternoon of old-fashioned shuffleboard, good company, and plenty of laughter.
Guests enjoyed springtime treats and refreshing mocktails while socializing and playing shuffleboard in a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
This popular monthly event is proudly sponsored by Legacy Rehab and Care Center.

Volunteer Spotlight~

Our next volunteer spotlight is on the wonderful Heidi Little! 🌟

Heidi has been volunteering with us for 3 years and wears many hats around the Senior Enrichment Center. As an ambassador, she gives tours to our new neighbors, teaches crafts, and helps out with special events and offers clerical work. Heidi says she has found her “retirement happy place” here at the Center. Her favorite part of volunteering is interacting with neighbors and giving them a smile.

A life of service: Heidi spent 31 wonderful years as a school secretary in Orange County, California before retiring in December 2020. Heidi is a 4th generation Californian who grew up on a farm in Orange County. Her family has deep roots in the area; her great-grandfather brought supplies to early Orange County in a covered wagon, and making friends with the Indians. He can be found in the history books in Orange County.

Heidi and her husband, Tim have been married for 43 wonderful years. They have two children and one precious grandson living in Seattle.

When Heidi isn’t busy helping out at the Senior Enrichment Center, Heidi stays active and creative. She stays fit with daily exercise and yoga. She also is always ready to try a new craft project.

We are so grateful for Heidi’s full heart and kindness that she shares with everyone that she meets. Thank you for everything that you do, Heidi! ❤️

Friday’s Fun Craft Class was all about creativity with a purpose! Participants enjoyed making “Birthday Wishes Clip Magnets,” combining colorful designs with a heartfelt touch. Each handmade magnet was thoughtfully created to be gifted to our Meals on Wheels clients as a special birthday surprise. It was a wonderful reminder of how small, handmade gestures can make a big impact in our community. A special thank you to our amazing volunteer craft leaders, Terisa, Heidi, and Lila, for sharing their time, talents, and enthusiasm to make this class such a success!

Neighbor Spotlight~

Meet our latest Neighbor Spotlight, Tommy! 🌟

Tommy has been a neighbor at our Senior Enrichment Center for about 4 months now. If you’re looking for him, you can usually find him enjoying a cup of coffee ☕️ with our local law enforcement officers at our Coffee with a Cop event, or checking out the latest poker games!

Tommy has held a career in the cards before retiring in December 2024. Tommy spent over 12 years as a Poker Room Supervisor at the world-famous Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Originally from Southern California, Tommy now brings that same sharp eye and community spirit to our Senior Enrichment Center.

Tommy is a proud father of two: A son who serves as a Firefighter and a daughter who is a tattoo artist who travels both the United States and internationally, guest spotting at various tattoo shops. Tommy also has a long-time girlfriend with whom he shares his busy life.

When Tommy isn’t here at the Senior Enrichment Center, he is likely staying busy with one of his many passion projects. He loves working with his hands and is always busy building things or improving his property.

Fun fact: Tommy once rode his motorcycle across the entire United States!

We are so lucky to have Tommy’s energy and experience in our community. Be sure to say hello and ask him about his cross-country ride the next time you see him! 🏍️
