John Absher Obituary
John Absher, 66, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 6:40 am February 4, 2025 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born August 31, 1958 in Oaklawn, Illinois to the late Henry Absher and Patricia (Baker) Absher.

John is survived by his mother, Patricia Absher of Oaklawn, Illinois; son, Robert Absher and fiancée, Lori Meadows of Nashville, Illinois; grandchildren, Mia Marie Armer, Jaysen Allen Armer, Jaxson Lee Absher and Meredith Marie Absher; brothers, Jack Turner, Steve Turner, and Stanley Absher; and sisters, Amber Korpal and husband, Steve and Tricia Absher.

John was preceded in death by his father, Henry Absher.

Mr. Absher was the Mount Vernon Bee Guy and he loved his bees. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing, and playing guitar. John was also an outstanding woodworker.

There will be no services held.

John is the son of Harrison John Absher and Patricia Ann Baker, Harrison Absher was the son of Mastion Absher and Dora May VanDenBerg, Dora was the daughter of Jennie Vanden Bosch, Jennie was the daughter of Hendrik Pieterzoon Vanden Bosch, Hendrik was the son of Pieter Tammens Vanden Bosch, the third child of Tamme Molles VDB and Grietje Koenen Bont.

Years ago when I st arted this research there were lots of records on the men, now I am finding a lot of records on the women. Tamme Molles and Grietje Bont had 3 daughters. All of them married well and had lots of children, I am finding them now....hang in there, I will post what I find.

I think I may have this figured out, I am going to make another folder titled obit...then do the obits in text, save them as jpg files and put them in folders like I would a picture, that way facebook can't just take them away at will....take that Zuckerburg...
