If you’re eligible for home healthcare, Medicare covers several services if they are reasonable and necessary for the treatment of an illness or injury.

Medicare covers skilled nursing, therapy services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology, medical social services, and medical supplies as part of your care.

Medicare does not cover 24-hour-a-day care at your home, home meal delivery, homemaker services (like shopping and cleaning) unrelated to your care plan, and custodial or personal care (bathing and dressing) when it is the only care needed.

Bunkie HomeCare reminds you and all of our patients to prepare themselves for any weather emergencies associated with the storm headed our way.
1. Have an emergency evacuation planned if the need should arise, and let your family know your plan.
2. If you are sheltering in place have the items necessary to do so in case of power outages.
3. Have 7-10 days of food (non-perishables) and bottled water available.
4. Have 7-10 days ofmedical supplies (medications, back up oxygen tanks, woundcare and other medical supplies where applicable).
5. Know where your nearest evacuation center is and have any medications, important documents, clothes and supplies ready to take with you.

We anticipate a good bit of rain headed our way. Sandbags are available throughout the parish, so prepare yourself ahead of time. And if you must travel, remember never to drive or walk through moving water.
