Have You Met Marie? ๐ค
She is just one case study that beautifully illustrates the effectiveness and value of our remote patient monitoring system (RPM) for reducing hospital readmissions. ๐
With a history of hospitalization due battles with congestive heart failure (CHF) and end stage renal disease (ESRD), Marie was a perfect candidate for RPM.
Through the telehealth program, Marie was monitored 24/7. Using the tablet and blue tooth devices she recorded her vital signs, including weight, heart rate, and o2 saturation. ๐ฉบ๐ฒ
The tablet also provided Marie with medication reminders, symptom surveys, educational videos, and video conferencing with her nurses, enabling them to support her in real time.
One day, Marieโs nurse noticed a 7lb weight increase within 24 hours! ๐ฑ Immediately, her nurse initiated a video call to perform a visual assessment and triage her symptoms.
Marie explained that she usually has edema in her left leg due to previous surgeries, but she did feel it was worse that day.
Marieโs nurse spoke to her physician, who altered her medication to reduce the swelling and very soon the edema in Marie's left leg diminished.
Because of the 24/7 monitoring by Marieโs nurse, Marie was able to avoid an ER visit or hospital readmission and recover in the comfort of her home!๐ฅฐ
