She is about to get her first treatment towards relief from dry eyes- she is getting an IPL. An IPL (Intense Pulse Light) helps treat dry eye at the root cause by reducing inflammation. It targets the meibomian glands which are responsible for producing the oily layer of the tear film. Without properly functioning glands the tear film is unstable resulting in blurred vision and irritated eyes.
